The Role Of Your Skin When It Is Oily
By Louise Forrest

Skin is the outermost covering of our body which protects us from external shocks and harmful sun rays and keeps out germs and dirt. Though main functions of the are the same in every human being, still people have different types of skin, like oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, normal skin etc.

Oily skin is one which looks shiny and dull and in most cases have pimples or blemishes on it.
The main cause of oily skin is increased flow of sebum or oil by sebaceous glands. Oily skin may be by birth or it may become at any stage. Some of the known causes for oily skin are i) hormonal, ii) hereditary, iii) dietary, iv) amount and quality of cosmetics used. Secretion of oil may vary as per the age of the person. It may be more in adolescent years and during pregnancy or menopause. This is due to the reason that during these stages hormonal changes take place which may affect the oil glands too.

Oily skin has its advantages and disadvantages. The most important advantage of oily skin is that it looks and stays younger for longer time as compared to other skin types. But the disadvantage of the skin is that it requires a lot of care and looking after.

To keep the oily skin healthy we need to keep it clean by washing it regularly with warm water and oil free cleanser. But be careful of doing this only three to four times a day, because mashing your face more than this may harm it by aggravating the oil glands to produce more oil. Do not use harsh cleanser that may cause harm to your skin.

Always use quality product for cleaning your skin and proper care should be given to your hair also. Oil based products are good for this purpose. But your moisturizer should be oil free.
Apply mud mask with a few drops of lemon juice and rose water. This will help make your skin look good.

People having oily skin should also take care of their diet, as it affects their skin too. You diet should be rich in protein and low in sugar and fat. They should also include fresh fruits and green vegetables in their diet. Eat a diet that is rich in iron and other minerals. This helps the oil glands to be in control. One very important thing is drinking plenty of water to keep the natural moisture of the skin, and it also helps in flushing out the toxins produced by the body.
Otherwise, these toxins may cause various dry skin problems. Cutting down alcoholic or carbonated drink's consumption is also required.

Though oily skin looks good, but applying make up on it is a bit problematic, for it becomes patchy after some time and looks very awkward. Before putting on make up. apply cucumber juice on certain areas like nose, chin etc., where oil production is more. Remove excess oil from face just dab it with soft tissue. Never rub or scrub the skin with harsh materials, it may harm your skin. By taking these few very simple precautions you will enjoy a healthy and beautiful skin that is not oily.

Find The Best Eye Wrinkle Cream With These 5 Tips
By Sean Saunders

Finding the best eye wrinkle cream isn't going to be a quick and effortless process -- it's going to take some time & patience. How much time? Well, that's up to you and how badly you wish to find the best anti wrinkle eye cream on the market. In all honesty though, as long as you put a bit of effort into the search and you don't give up too quickly, it really won't take all that long.

If you'd like to speed up your under eye wrinkle cream search, read & utilize the 5 tips below.

- Don't be fooled by anti-wrinkle cream that has been given the title of "best". Just because a company claims they have the best eye wrinkle cream, that doesn't make it true. If you buy every "best" cream out there, you'll soon find yourself with very little money & a whole lot of useless wrinkle reducing cream.

- Rely on online retailers more than on local department stores. Local department stores may have an under eye wrinkle cream section, but it probably won't be too plentiful in terms of options. It's alright to visit these stores, but don't base your entire search around them.

- Read dozens and dozens of anti wrinkle cream reviews. The more reviews you can find on anti-wrinkle eye cream, the better. However, don't trust every review you come across -- some websites will give unfair or overly biased reviews because they're actually promoting the cream as an affiliate. That being said, keep a watchful eye for reviews that are a bit "too" positive.

- Compare wrinkle creams for yourself. You don't have to buy wrinkle cream in order to compare it; you just need to have some decent observations skills. Simply read over the benefits and possible side-effects of 2 or more eye wrinkle creams and then compare those results with the anti wrinkle cream reviews you've read. Chances are good that you'll find at least a few different reliable eye creams. Who knows, you may even find a diamond in the rough; one that not a whole lot of people know about.

- Try before you buy. Although it's not the case with every anti-wrinkle eye cream out there, many of them will actually be offered on the a free trial basis. If that's indeed the case for an eye cream you're interested in, jump on the offer right away. Not only is it risk free to you, but it is a great way to find the best eye wrinkle cream through firsthand experience.

Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, And Poison Sumac Rashes - Advice From A Sarasota Florida Dermatologist
By Bradley Abrams, D.O.

Itching is not always the first symptom to occur when one comes in contact with a poisonous plant. For many of my patients, the first realization that they might have come in contact with poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac, occurs when they consult with me about a rash that they have developed. These vicious weeds are the single most common cause of allergic reactions in the United States.

A rash from these weeds develops when the skin comes in contact with an oil called urushiol (you-roo-shee-ol) Urushiol is found in the sap of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. It oozes forth from any broken part of the plant, including the roots, stems, and leaves. After exposure to air, urushiol turns brownish-black, making it easier to spot.

Contact with urushiol can occur in three ways:

Direct contact - touching the sap of the toxic plant.

Indirect contact - touching something to which urushiol has spread. The oil can stick to clothing, animal hair or skin, sports equipment, basically any object that has come into contact with any broken part of the plant.

Contact with airborne urushiol particles - which can occur from the burning of the poisonous plants. This can cause a rash if and when it comes in contact with your skin.

A rash occurring from any one of these plants can affect almost any part of your body, especially where your skin is most thin. Redness and swelling occur first, usually followed by blisters and severe itching. Blister fluid from these rashes does not spread the rash. In a couple days, the blisters may become crusted and begin to scale. The rash traditionally takes 10 days or longer to heal.

The best advice I can offer to help prevent the misery of a poison ivy rash is - to STAY AWAY. The best way to know which plants to avoid is by learning to identify these poisonous plants.
Their appearance may change slightly through the seasons, but they remain toxic year round. A key feature in identifying poison ivy and poison oak is in the leaves: they consistently come in threes. Therefore, the popular saying "leaves of three, beware of me," is a good rule of thumb to follow.

Follow these simple rules if you think you have been exposed to poison ivy, poison oak or poison sumac:

Wash the exposed area(s) immediately with running water. The water should keep the urushiol from spreading to other parts of your body. Do not use soap at this point. Soap can pick up some of the urushiol and spread it to other parts of your body.

Take a regular shower with soap and warm water within 30 minutes of being exposed. Make sure you have already cleansed the exposed area with running water before using soap.

Wash you clothing as soon as possible. Don't wait and do not do a full load of laundry with the clothing you think has been exposed to the poisonous plant. You can transfer the urushiol to rugs or furniture if you're not careful.

Make sure you clean any other item(s) (like camping equipment, fishing gear, etc) that may have come in contact with the oil.

You can relieve the itching of mild rashes by taking cool showers and applying over-the-counter products like calamine lotion or Burrow's solution. Soaking in a lukewarm bath with an oatmeal or baking soda solution can be used to ease itching and dry oozing blisters.

I always recommend you consult a board certified dermatologist if you know you have been exposed to one of these weeds. A dermatologist can properly diagnose your rash and may prescribe cortisone or other medicines that can prevent blisters from forming.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Spray Tanning
By Melanie Vasseur

It is quite normal for people who like to have a tan all year round to use tanning booths throughout the year. It has become a recognized fact that too much sun is dangerous for our skin and causes many problems which is why the new artificial methods have proved so popular.
Across America (and other countries) there has been in increase in artificial techniques with spray tanning high up on that list. The spray system appears to be more consistent than other artificial methods like crams or lotions where streak marks are not uncommon.

Although the popularity is still to be proved, systems using the new spray tanning technology have been designed for home use. Whichever method you decide upon there are some simple but basic steps needed to ensure the best effect. Initially you need to exfoliate which will eliminate all the dead skin cells from your body. The last thing you want is to have dead skin dropping off and leaving lighter patches where it once was.

To complete this part of the preparation, the skin needs to be moist and ready to accept the tan so a good skin moisturizer will need to be applied all over. Before applying a tanning agent, whether bottle or cream, ensure you are wearing gloves or the orange palms that will follow will give the game away. To avoid any other application mistakes that could give away the fact that the tan is not real, make sure those fingers, feet, elbows and knees are only given the lightest of coats as they have a habit of coming out darker. When a spray tanning system is used a towel will be needed to wipe off any excess which could cause a streak.

To avoid any smears, marks or cracking, you will need to relax and remain still, while the tanning agent dries. Don't forget to wear some old clothes as fake tan is notorious for staining almost anything it touches. The best advice here is to have a change of clothing that is darker than the color of the tan as this way it will not notice. Applying an artificial tan successfully means there are a few rules to follow which should ensure it looks as genuine as possible.

Developing A Skin Care Routine Improves The Look And Maintenance Of Your Skin
By Katharine Silvia

Step 1

Know your skin type. Developing a skin care routine is completely dependent on oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or even sun-damaged skin. There are many online resources, including helpful quizzes, that allow you to understand which type of skin you have.

Step 2

Cleanse well. The trick is finding a cleanser that works well for your skin. Once you have found one you love, stick with it. They can be tough to find. Liquid facial cleansers tend to work best. Shy away from bar soaps for your face; they are drying, and aren't designed to handle the delicacy of facial skin.

Step 3

Exfoliate. Many people miss this step in their daily skin care routine, but it's an important step in refreshing the skin as it scrubs away the dead skin cells that can cause pore clogging, dry skin and even acne. For the cheapest, do-it-at-home fix, find a scrub at your drug store that includes exfoliating beads or particles. Exfoliate just once a week.

Step 4

Skip using a toner. Some people swear by them, but many experts feel that a good cleanser should remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt. A toner isn't necessary, but if you really like yours, stick with it.

Step 5

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. No matter what your skin type, it should be moisturized. Even oily skin can benefit from an oil-free moisturizer. The face and body should be moisturized, but special formulas should be used for the face. Your skin will indicate how often you need to complete this step. If it feels tight/dry, it needs a drink. Don't over-moisturize; it can lead to clogged pores.

Step 6

Apply sunscreen. Dermatologists agree that sunscreen is the most important aspect of your skin care regimen. Choose a daily moisturizer with UV protection and get two benefits in one. Avoid moisturizers with sunscreen built in at night, as the ingredients aren't meant to be used 24/7.

Keep Your Skin Looking Youthful The Organic Way
By Harwood E Woodpecker

As we get older we find ourselves more conscious of our appearance but at the same time become more comfortable with our body and our looks. We tend to spend less time trying to make ourselves look better in the short term but be more aware of the long term affect that things like the sun and pollution will have on our skin, making sure that we apply sun cream when needed and cleanse our skin properly on a daily basis. We are also more aware than ever about the way certain things affect our body, not only does this experience come with age but we are also more informed than ever before, mainly thanks to television programmes and health magazine. If for no other reason than our own personal satisfaction we should attempt the basics of keeping our skin in good condition, so what are the best ways to keep younger looking as natural as possible and give ourselves that organic lived in look?

Making sure that we keep looking as good as possible for as long as possible as we get older is something that makes us feel good inside but as long as we are comfortable with our looks we should not be too hung up on keeping our youthful looks, after all, none of us are getting any younger and the look of an older person can be that of a distinguished person who is worldly wise. In this day and age more and more people are attempting to keep their youthful looks by going down the road of plastic surgery; this can be expensive as well as creating a look that is not one natural to you, pulling old skin tighter across a bone structure does not always give the appearance of youth. There are many other, simpler ways that can help you to look younger, naturally that simply need adding into a routine rather than meaning that you will have to go under the knife.

The simplest way to keep your skin looking fresher and more youthful is to drink plenty of water throughout the day. The human race is thirstier than ever before as we are drinking more on a daily basis than at any other point in history, the problem is that we are drinking the wrong fluids to have any benefit on our appearance. The fluids we are taking on such as coffee, tea and sugary soft drinks although keep us hydrated do very little for our looks and especially our skin.
Both tea and coffee are diuretics which mean they help us to expel more fluid than we put into our body keeping us in a permanent limbo of de-hydration whilst soft drinks in a can are laden with sugar and calories which do very little to improve our looks. Keeping properly hydrated has a double affect on our bodies, it helps to flush toxins and impurities out of our system and it helps to feed our skin from the inside, helping to keep it fresh and clean looking.

When our skin is hydrated correctly it is important to ensure that we keep it clean from the daily dirt and grime that we encounter. Keeping your skin is not just a case of washing and presuming that we are clean. Many personal hygiene cleaning products contain chemicals which over time can dry out skin and undo any good work that might be done. When it comes to cleaning your skin you should be aware of what you are cleaning your skin with, in the same way that you would not scour a non-stick saucepan when it needed cleaning you should look to clean your skin in the correct, gentle manner. Using a product that is free of chemicals and additives is a good pure way of keeping your skin clean and the amount of organic skin care products that are on the market is growing in number.

Organic skin care used to be a very niche market and organic skin care products used to solely be available through health food stores but now more and more of the larger cosmetic companies are seeing the worth in the products as well as the benefits that they can have on your skin and incorporating these products into their ranges. Organic skin care products are gentler on you skin whilst cleaning as they do not contain any chemicals or additives that may over time cause irritation to your skin. Many people find that after a few months of using standard cleansing products for a while they start to develop a dry patch of skin here or there, this is invariably caused by the chemicals in the wash reacting negatively with your skin, with organic skin care products you get none of this as the products are totally natural, the only problem you may get is if you are allergic to any of the totally natural ingredients in the organic skin care product.

So there you have it, by simply drinking enough water during the day and cleansing your skin with an organic skin care product you should help to keep your skin looking clean, fresh and youthful for longer.

Iced Anti Wrinkle Cream Is Among The Best Wrinkle Creams
By Sean Saunders

Believe it or not, the most expensive anti wrinkle creams aren't going to be any better than the low-mid level priced wrinkle creams. You heard correctly; just because it has a $100 price tag, that does not make it any better than the the rest of the wrinkle remover creams that are out there. That being said, stop putting so much weight on cost, and start putting more weight on actual quality.

Among the best wrinkle creams in all the world is iced anti wrinkle cream. If you've never heard of it before, that's completely understandable -- after all, cosmetic companies don't always tell the whole truth, do they? Nevertheless, it is a very powerful product that can greatly help any person to get rid of wrinkles & finelines.

Iced anti-wrinkle cream works quite differently than normal anti aging wrinkle cream. Rather than increasing collagen -- which is what most creams do -- iced wrinkle removing cream freezes the skin and stops nerve activity in the area. This halt in nerve activity makes it so that no new wrinkles can be formed; plus, it makes any visible wrinkles disappear. Admittedly, the wrinkles won't disappear from your face completely, but you will indeed notice a drastic difference in the smoothness & firmness of your skin.

Unfortunately, there is a downside to this particular type of anti-wrinkle cream. The downside is that it won't provide everlasting wrinkle removal. Truth be told, the results only last for about 24 hours per application. This means that after the 24 hour period, your wrinkles will begin to slowly reappear. Obviously, this isn't the greatest of news, but considering that the wrinkle cream starts working in just under 10 minutes, it's not too large of a disappointment. If this fact is a deal breaker for you, well, you'd better get use to those wrinkles -- because disappointment seems to accompany every wrinkle remover product on the market in one form or another.

Revitalize Your Skin And Improve Your Circulation
By Kevin Hinton

Last year we moved from the beach to the hills.

It was a big change for us - from the sound of the surf lulling us to sleep each night to an environment of 'absolute' silence in the forest.

Of course we brought all our lovely plants with us - they are like children to Katy and I.

We give them loving care - ensuring that their roots are in the best possible soil with adequate pure water and that their leaves are misted on a regular basis.

However, after having been in the hills for a month or so we noticed that the plants were doing much better 'up here' than they were 'down there.'

It wasn't that we were taking better care of them or doing anything much different - but it was obvious - even dainty ferns that had been struggling for a long time made a come back and looked luscious.

It was Katy that finally twigged the change and cause - it was the air.

The plants loved the fresh air, and...they didn't miss the salt that had undoubtedly been deposited on their leaves at the beach.

Our own skin is quite similar and responds in like kind through the act of skin brushing.

A daily skin and air brush in the early morning - before your shower - will refresh, tone-up and improve the circulation.

Get in the habit of revitalizing your skin.

Remember, the skin breathes and likes its pores clean, fresh and open.

All the best for your health and happiness,

Kevin

Scalp Eczema
By Mia M Wadsworth

If you have scalp eczema, then you know just how horribly irritating and potentially embarrassing it can be. However, you are not alone. Many people worldwide also suffer daily from this problem. Eczema is a condition that can show up anywhere on the body where there is skin, but for some reason scalp eczema is more prevalent than any other variety of the malady. Unfortunately, eczema has no cure, but can be controlled with medication and attention to the environment, and has been known to clear up and never return, though the potential is always there.

How Does My Scalp Eczema Start?
Scalp eczema usually begins as a mild case of dandruff. In some people, it stays just that - a mild case of dandruff that is easily gotten rid of with the use of a good dandruff shampoo. However, in others, the dandruff continues to get worse and worse.
Your head is flaking like a snowstorm, and it begins to itch so intensely that you can barely get anything done because you are scratching so frequently. The skin on your scalp becomes very red, sore, and irritated. You might see scaly bumps on your scalp. Your frenzied scratching can even cause sores and bleeding to occur. Sometimes, there is even hair loss in the area, but this hair will grow back whenever you have managed to clear the eczema up. Men seem to have scalp eczema more frequently that women, but quite a few women are sufferers, too. Teenagers who are in the puberty stage can also frequently be observed with scalp eczema. In their case, it is thought to be cause by the influx of hormones normal for teens that are at this point of their lives.

What Causes My Scalp Eczema?
No one knows yet just what definitely causes scalp eczema. Many studies have been done attempting to isolate the cause, but so far, they have not been successful. The only things that these studies have been able to discover are some of the reasons why scalp eczema is such a problem for so many people. These reasons include -The boy's hormonal system, which can fluctuate with ageA skin fungus that could be caused by a systemic yeast overgrowthA buildup of toxins, which causes your immune system to have to work very hard in an attempt to dislocate and rid the body of these interlopers.

Too much stress in your daily life coupled with a sleep deficit.

What Symptoms Will I Have with Scalp Eczema?
You will think that you merely have a case of dandruff to begin with, and will probably try to clear it up by using medicated shampoo from a drugstore. Sometimes, if the dandruff is mild, you can back the scalp eczema off a degree or two with the use of such a product. However, normally you will experience intense itching that you will go almost mad trying to scratch and relieve! Your scalp will become irritated and red, and may even develop sores. The oil on your scalp will appear excessive to the point where it is very noticeable, and may even be visible as a yellowish substance. The minor dandruff flaking will become much worse, and you may have crusty areas form in the scalp.

How Can I Treat My Scalp Eczema?
When you seek medical treatment for scalp eczema, your health professional will more than likely give you steroids in the form of hydrocortisone. This is not the best treatment, for although the steroids will stop the itching, they do nothing to clear up the real problem. Treatment will mainly consist of medicated shampoos, lotions and creams to get the symptoms under control and into remission, hopefully never to rear their ugly heads again.

You can use a variety of natural treatment including slight diet adjustments for a while and also by using natural oils such as hemp or neem and lavender to soothe and heal.

You can also do a lot to help your scalp by using products that are gentle on your skin instead of harsh cleansing ingredients found in most shampoos. To find a good shampoo for scalp eczema look for one that doesn't contain sulphates (a harsh foaming agent called a surfactant) and instead contains natural surfactants like yukka or coconut.

Scalp eczema and other scaly scalp conditions can be eliminated by understanding what to avoid and what you can use at home to nourish and heal your scalp.

Mia Wadsworth owner of http://www.dryitchyscalpremedies.com/ helps suffers of hair loss, thinning hair, dandruff & itchy scalp understand the causes of their scalp and hair loss problems plus suggests vitamins for hair loss and natural remedies to stimulate hair growth naturally.

What Is Psoriasis?
By Nick Kanellopoulos

Psoriasis ("sor-eye-ah-sees") is a skin condition where your skin becomes thick, itchy, with silver coloring. Elbows, scalp, knees, and torso are the parts of your body that are commonly affected but actually it may affect every part of it. An important number of people with Psoriasis develops psoriatic arthritis, which causes pain of the joints, local swelling and difficulty in moving the involved joint.

Psoriasis is a lifetime disease but not usually progressive in character. This means that it doesn't have to get worse through the course of time .The defect in psoriasis is found in our defense system , the autoimmune system. Through this system, the human body normally keeps the bad guys out! In a certain point of time this "military police" of ours, goes crazy and starts shooting fellow soldiers (these are our body cells)! So now our body has to make even more soldiers to cover for the loss. The sad thing is that the immune system does not stop malfunctioning and progressively larger numbers of cells are required to be produced. These cells get to the surface of our skin abnormally early, resulting in the thickening of the skin which is the predominant finding of psoriasis.

Psoriasis goes on sometimes silently, other times loud enough to have a negative impact on people lives. In other words there is a "wax and wane" nature of the symptoms.

Infections, emotional stress, certain medications such as lithium, anti malarials , beta-blockers along with sunburns and scratches have the ability to worsen psoriasis. Always remember that psoriasis is not contagious and people suffering from the disease can lead normal lives. In addition to that we should make sure to back them emotionally because sometimes the psychological aspect of the disease can be worse than the disease itself.

Anti-Aging and Cancer - Learn How One Thing Can Fight Both
By Melanie Vasseur

It is not surprising that one of the largest markets in the world of health and beauty is anti-ageing skin care products; as our lifespan increases so does our desire to remain active as well as look young and healthy. This is done using skin care products that encourage the growth of the protein collagen which happens to be the main source of the protein used in the connective tissue of skin; twenty-five per cent of the skin's protein is collagen. Collagen is a member of another family of substances that aid in reducing the signs of ageing. this group is called antioxidants which are natural chemicals found in many foods and our body.

Probably the best known of these anti-oxidants is vitamin C although no-one really knows just how much we should have each day. Vitamin C formulated skin care treatments suffer with a particular problem of oxidizing on contact with the air which causes a problem for users and manufacturers.

More stable skin care treatments are now available that are almost as efficient and actually cost less to manufacture. Unfortunately the anti-oxidant products used to replace vitamin C are not as effective but as vitamin E and lipoic acid can both have the same effect; this is not too much of a problem.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant and is found in human blood; it helps build resistance against infection like cancer for example. Lipoic acid is found in every single human cell and helps provide energy; it is also able to help reduce and restore the skin's aging process.

Other compounds called phytochemicals have proved to be beneficial in the
formulation of anti-ageing skin care products; they are removed from various plants. A secondary but more important use of phytochemicals is the effect they have on the prevention of some strains of cancer; examples of these are:

*Cancer of the Prostate

*Cancer of the Breast

*Cancer that attacks the Colon

All of which are on the increase globally.

Some B-vitamins like B5, B6 and B12 are also in use for anti-ageing skin care products. This is a vast area that has the potential for many new anti-ageing skin care products and services in the future but research needs to continue. Whilst a great deal has been learned about this subject, it is only the tip of the iceberg; each year, more is learnt about this topic so reducing the effects of age on the body is just a matter of time.

In time it is hoped that less expensive and more reliable anti-ageing skin care products will become available for a larger number of people to use. At the moment though, science is still behind the field of natural anti-aging methods; man-made products may never replace those that are available naturally! Natural methods are known, but few people actually follow them; what proportion of the population actually eats healthily, takes plenty of exercise, drink sufficient water and obtain restful and regular sleep?

My Personal Top Tips for Skin Health
By Kate Bancroft

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Many people give different advice and tips for keeping your skin healthy. After working for the last 15 years as a qualified nurse, which has now lead into running my own advanced skin clinic, here are some vital tips I have learnt over the years, that work for me and my clients...

1. Drink plenty of water. We recommend 3 litres, sipped throughout the day, to support maximum skin hydration.

2. Use a high factor sun block (at least SPF 15) at all times, ensuring the product you choose blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Remember, even on a cloudy day, you can still sustain sun damage, if you are not protected.

3. Eat a diet rich in Omega 3 - nuts, seeds etc - will help maintain your skill cell function and promote a youthful complexion.

4. Try to up your intake of anti-oxidant-rich foods and drinks. Fresh fruit and vegetables and juices such as pomegranate and green tea contain valuable anti-oxidants that help protect your body from aging at a cellular level.

5. Exercise regularly to maintain optimum cell functioning and increase blood flow to flush out unwanted toxins.

6. Get plenty of sleep. Doctors recommend 7-8 hours per night for adults, to give your cells and tissues the opportunity to repair themselves.

7. Avoid caffeine, salt, sugar and alcohol as all are toxins and have a direct impact on our overall health and as well as the quality and appearance of our skin.

8. Invest in a good quality skincare regime. Choose a programme that is tailored to your specific skin type. Remember products containing beneficial levels of active ingredients are rarely available off the shelf - consult an experienced skincare practitioner to discover what is best for you.

9. Don't smoke! As well as giving you lines around your mouth, smoking robs the skin of oxygen and vitamin C and can literally double the rate at which skin ages!

10. Beware of harsh beauty products with high perfume content, astringent properties or scrubbing agents. These skincare ingredients upset the natural balance of healthy skin, can cause dryness and make our skin vulnerable to infection. Instead, choose perfume free products with a ph of around 5.5 that match our skin's natural state.

Natural Skin Care And Beauty - The Steps You Need To Know
By Julie Roberts

With everything going green these days, natural skin care has never been more popular. Skin care companies are adding natural based products to their product offerings. Most any beauty store you pass has natural skin care products in the window. However, true natural skin care is more than using just natural products or homemade skin care remedies. It is a lifestyle routine.

Natural skin care is natural beauty and vice versa. However, it is affected by more than what you put on your skin and if that product is natural. Practicing natural skin care involves a lifestyle that practices healthy habits all the time. If you eat a poor diet, never exercise and smoke, then there is not product natural or otherwise that is going to keep your skin young and healthy. The most important factor for maintaining a beautiful complexion starts from the inside. In other words, natural beauty is more than skin deep.

Six Factors That Can Influence the Way Your Skin Looks

Diet: What you put. It is just as important as any product you could put on your skin. A balanced diet rich in vegetables and fruits, low in sugar, low in bad fats, rich in calcium and plenty of water, will do more to keep you a natural beauty than any store bought product.

Physical Activity and Proper Sleep: Exercise is great for the skin. It promotes good blood flow to the dermis and brings more oxygen to the skin. On the flip side, getting enough sleep is just as necessary for beautiful skin especially as we age. An average adult should get 8 to 9 hours of sleep when possible.

Environment: The outside and inside environment in which you spend your days can affect your skin in many ways. The sun being the most obvious. UVA/UVB rays can do lots of damage to our skin down to the deeper collagen layers. With all the great sun protection choices available, there is no reason not to protect your skin. Wind can dry and chap your skin and smog can leave a thin layer of dirt on your skin; so make sure you moisturize and keep your skin clean. Even air-
conditioning and heating can affect the health of your skin.

Heredity: Great skin or skin problems can run in the family. If you get a beautiful complexion from your grandmother, don't take it for granted. Your skin will still need proper care. The same goes for skin problems. Do not feel like there is nothing you can do. Following the recommendations here and finding a good skin care system can improve or totally alleviate these problems.

Stress: Avoid stress as much as possible. Too much stress can adversely affect your total health including how your skin looks. Practicing natural skin care includes reducing or eliminating stress from your life.

Medications: Certain medications can affect your skin, sometimes resulting in rashes, dry skin or acne. Always consult your doctor if you are taking medications that seem to be changing your skin. Hormonal medications and some antibiotics are examples.

Other tips for a natural skin care lifestyle are:

1. Give your body a dry brush exfoliation.

Dry brush exfoliation removes dead skin cells and helps to detoxify your skin. Dry brushing also improves lymph and blood circulation. The gentle brushing is also relaxing for your nerves and can help decrease puffiness.

2. Try to avoid sugar overload in your diet.

Eating sugar is considered one of the major causes of premature aging. Too much sugar in the bloodstream can cause a process to happen known as glycation. Glycation is when a glucose (sugar) molecule attaches to a protein molecule. When this happens, the protein molecule is damaged and a new molecule is formed and is called advanced glycation end-products or AGE's. AGE's damage collagen in the skin, cartilage, and ligaments and causes a loss of elasticity. This causes sagging and wrinkles.

3. Keep things moving.

A sluggish circulation affects your skin by leaving it starved for nutrients. Inactivity can leave you bloated, puffy, increase acne, and encourage cellulite. So if you have a job that leaves you sitting all the time, it is very important to use your breaks and get moving. Talk a couple laps around the office. Join a gym. Get outside on the weekends. Good circulation will improve your skin and your whole body.

4. Rev Up Your Digestion

A good running digestive system is good for your skin and total well being. People with skin problems often suffer from digestive problems like constipation or an imbalance of good and bad bacteria.

To rev up your digestion, try to drink enough water. Water keeps things moving through the colon which is always important. Then make sure to eat enough fiber in your daily diet. In 2002, the National Academy of Sciences Food and Nutrition Board recommended that women, aged 19 to 50 years, need 25 grams of fiber daily and over age 50, 21 grams of fiber. For men, aged 19 to 50 years, 38 grams of fiber is recommended. Men over 50 years, need to include 31 grams of fiber in their diet.

To add fiber to your diet, make sure to include whole grain products, cauliflower, apples with skin, nuts and seeds, prunes, bean, legumes and ground flax seed.

5. Eat Good Fats

Good fats are the essential fatty acids like omega-3 and omega-6. Your body cannot live without these essential fatty acids. EFA's are needed to make cell membranes, hormones, and other body chemicals. They protect your heart and fight inflammation. EFA's can help people with dry skin, acne and eczema. Essential fatty acids can be found in cold water fish like salmon or sardines, flaxseed oil, walnut oil, and supplements.

A few more steps that you should include in your natural skin care and beauty system are:

Brush your teeth after every meal

Pamper yourself with a weekly facial or steam

Treat yourself to a monthly or more total body treatment

Always protect your skin from the sun and elements

Use natural skin care products

Be happy and confident! A smiling face always shows your inner beauty.

Natural Quick Tips To Improving Your Skin
By Sandy Edwards

Improving your skin is the first step in keeping your body healthy. We have all seen the lucky ladies who can splash water on their face, dab a little eye cream, and look flawless. Most people are not so fortunate and some folks may need a bit more care. Mother Nature has provided natural remedies to restore the glowing complexion you were born to have.

The most important part of your natural skin care routine is drinking plenty of water. Our bodies are made up of 70% water and we have to keep it replenished. Moisturizers that you apply on the surface of your skin are helpful but the most beneficial moisture comes from within.
Cleaning your skin is the next best thing you can do to restore your beauty naturally. By making your skin care a habit, you are more likely to stick with it. No matter what else is going on in your life, you have to make time for yourself. Taking the extra minute to remove your make-up each night will work wonders in improving your skin.

Staying out of the sun adds years to the natural glow of your skin. Skin cancer is a deadly price to pay for a tan. There are many skin care products available that include sunscreen protection against the sun's harmful rays. Sunless tanning products can provide you with summer color without the wrinkles. Aloe vera provides fast acting relief for a sunburn.

Smooth, silky skin is within your reach. Improving your skin with an exfoliating facial is a quick way to remove dead skin and bacteria. A gentle scrub will also encourage new skin cells to shine through. If, you suffer from sensitive skin, homemade remedies are the natural way to pure, polished skin. Oatmeal scrubs can mildly rub potentially dangerous stress and irritants away.

Honey has long been held as a vital skin care moisturizer. Beeswax leaves your skin feeling soft and youthful. Cucumber or potato slices on your eyelids help lighten those dark circles under your eyes. Olive oil is a secret ingredient in home remedy skin care recipes such as mixed with green tea for a treatment for eczema. Drinking green tea has shown to prevent future acne outbreaks. Green tea contains a strong antioxidant that also fights the signs of aging. Used tea bags can be applied as a natural skin toner which tightens and calms your skin.

Getting enough restful sleep is a nature's way of improving your skin. The best advice is to learn what Asian women do to remain looking so young. The answer is- they stay calm. Practice this method by taking deep breaths. The condition of your skin is a good indication of your overall health. Put on a fresh face and protect your skin because it is always protecting you.

Skin Care Tips
By Michelle Moseley

Skin care tips, everyone has them. Everywhere you turn, someone else has another idea for you to try. Have you tried many of these and been disappointed with the results? You could spend a fortune on skin care products and still have skin issues. When you have tried them all and you still are not happy with the results, don't give up yet.

I have one more suggestion.

Start from the inside. I'm going to give you a step by step process to try. This will take about 90 to 120 days to see the change. Please be patient.

The first thing I am going to suggest is doing a cleanse. I have printouts on two cleanses that I have used and recommend. If you would like me to email you one or both, just email me and I will send one or both right away.

Starting with a cleanse is the most important thing you can do. Depending on your age, let me ask you a few questions. How many times have you taken a shower in your life? How many times have you washed your face, your hair. How many times have you brushed your teeth in your life time? No idea? Well, one more question. How many times in your life have you cleaned anything on your inside? Most of us have never done so. We clean, scrub, wash, etc our outside, but not the inside. Why do you think that is?

I'll tell you why. Because most of us have never heard of doing this. It is not something that has been talked about. Even doctors don't tell us to do this. I wonder why.

Lets say you are someone in say, their forties. For forty plus years, you have eaten three times a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. You have drank probably water, coffee, soda, tea, juice, etc. Everything you have consumed has gone into your stomach and then through your digestive system. What you don't or can't use is eliminated.

Unfortunately, there are some things that we consume that do not pass through. They get stuck in various places. Some in the small intestines, some in the large. What do you think happen to this stuff that gets stuck? Any idea? It's kind of disturbing. It rots. That's right, it decays. What happens to rotting/decaying food? It begins to produce large amounts of bacteria, toxins, poisonings, etc. These are then re-absorbed back into your body. When this happens symtoms begin to appear. Things such as arthritis, acid reflux, fibromyaliga, cancer, acne and the list of diseases is endless. I'm sure you know someone with a chronic disease. This is called auto-intoxication and it happens all around all of us everyday. It is a huge problem and need to be addressed.

This is where doing a internal cleanse is SO important. This should be done every year. You consume lots of stuff in the course of a year. How about cleaning the system out once year.
Remember, you shower a lot more often than that. Once per year should be considered a maintenance program.

When you are ready to see for yourself how doing a cleanse can make you feel, contact me for my free cleansing guide. My contact information is at the bottom of this article.

After you have gone through your cleanse, now is the time to consider NOT returning to your old eating habits, especially if your previous diet was not a good one.

Some things that you should eliminate from your kitchen are...

1. excessive sugar, causes obesity, raises cholesterol

2. cake, cookies, pastries, sugary cereal, cereal bars, granola bars, power bars

3. chips, crackers, candy, soda, juice drinks (100% juice is OK in moderation)

4. artificial sweeteners, (try stevia or agave syrup), artificial sweeteners are being linked to Alzheimer's disease as well as dementia. It attacks that part of your brain.

5. excessive coffee or tea, too much acid. Your body needs to be kept in an alkaline environment and tea and coffee make you acid. For a detailed article on pH and how it effects you, contact me for that. I'll send it to you free. Keeping your pH up near 7 discourages the growth of many diseases such as cancer, arthritis, fibromylgia and many more. My other article will give you all the details.

6. anything that has hydrogenated and/or partially hydrogenated oil of any kind. The process of making something hydrogenated was created to make plastic. When you consume this it gets into your arteries and works like a knife, slicing the walls. When this happens, your body sends out its defenses in the way of cholesterol to fix all that damage. When you have excessive damage, your cholesterol numbers will be higher. Your doctor may put you on a medication, but that only gets rid of the symptoms. The underlying problem is still there. You must eliminate the hydrogenated oils. Look carefully. It is in everything.

7. processed food such as lunch meat, bacon, sausage, canned meat except tuna and chicken, (read the label), if it comes in a can or box or in the freezer section, stay way from it.

Here are some ideas for healthy eating. If you maintain this 80% of the time, you will feel better, lose weight if you need to and have great skin.

Breakfast foods...

1. eggs in moderation, cooked however you like

2. whole grain toast with small amount of butter and jelly sweetened with fruit juice, not sugar

3. whole grain cereal, 1% milk or skim.

4. fruit

5. protein breakfast drink, (read label, some have a lot of sugar) I can recommend one.
Last but not least, consider adding some nutritional supplements. The best kind are liquid and are easily absorbed by your body. If you take these particular supplements, I recommend, on an empty stomach, the absorption rate is equal to having an IV hooked up to your arm. They are fast and immediately absorbed. When you take a supplement that is absorbed this quickly, you are able to notice that these change how you feel. Taking just any old pill will not give you the same results. Pills are mostly fillers and do not break down in your system enough to benefit your health. It is said that they even sometimes come out on the other end, whole. This of course will not be an issue if you use a liquid.

Consider contacting me for more details about this article. I'd be happy to send you a guide to a complete cleanse, whether a detox cleanse or a basic one. I can also show you a way to get the EXACT nutritional supplements your body needs. No more guessing. Find your exact nutritional needs and get them met.

I can be reached at my toll free voice mail number, 1-800-363-4918. Leave your name, number and the reason for your call. I'll get back to you just as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading this article and I hope it has been helpful is showing you ways to get and/or stay healthy.

Michelle has spent many years being a health nut and studying natural health. She can help guide you to reach your healthiest ever. By contacting her, you will be guided to finding the perfect nutritional fit for you and your needs. No more guessing. She can be reached by calling 1-800-363-4918. Searching for The Best Hand Cream
By Shan Mulford

One of the most asked questions in spas and stores across the world is what is the best hand cream made. And while many will throw out different brands these brands will have a few things in common. The first thing is that they will all be natural based. Most hand creams use propylene glycol or mineral oil for the feel, you will also find these in many face creams as well.
The main drawback is that they are both very un-natural and chemical based but more importantly both have been proven to have a negative effect on the skin. As a matter of fact many believe that mineral not only clogs the pores but causes premature aging of the skin and can actually lead to darker skin spots and wrinkling of the skin and on the hands this is especially true. The other important thing to note is that mineral oil does not penetrate the skin but merely sits on top. Because of this it actually smoothers the skin. These manufacturers will tell you that it protects the skin but in fact about 30% of people that use mineral oil have break outs because the oil is not letting the skin breathe as it should.

So what is good for your skin? The answer is that when it actually comes to healing the skin and adding serious moisture to moisturize the skin the natural butters should be examined. For example natural shea, aloe, cocoa and hemp butters are all good and do not leave the skin oily.

Another thing that many people are starting to learn about is the preservative system. Many of the preservatives used in hand creams are very harsh and some have been linked to breast tumors. These are typically referred to as parabens. The top natural based creams don't use parabens. They use phenoxyethanol, neem oil and other natural based preservatives that are typically used in the preservative system.

And finally a good hand and body cream should be effective. It is bad enough that some are actually harmful to the body but how about finding one that is actually good to moisturize the skin and heal dry skin issues. So now you know what not to look for but what about the best ingredients. Here are some key ingredients other than the butters mentioned above. Green tea, chamomile extract, seaweed extract, peptides to remove the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin color. And don't forget antioxidants like vitamin c and e and even a. These super strong anti oxidants can actually reverse the signs of aging. Use this guide to learn more about the hand creams that can give you guidance on which creams and lotions to choose.

Shaney formulates the best hand cream formulas as well as many face cream with peptides formulas that are aimed at removing wrinkles and evening out skin tone and skin color as well as to decrease acne, rosacea, wrinkles, age spots and more.

Natural Skin Care - Staying Hydrated for Healthier Skin
By Laura Halik

Does your skin look wrinkly and feel dry? Do you feel tired and fatigued? Think it's your old age? Chances are it might not be due to your old age, but rather due to the lack of water in your body.
Mild dehydration symptoms will start to become noticeable after the body has lost 2% of its normal water volume. Some common symptoms of mild dehydration include dry skin, fatigue & weakness, dry mouth, loss of appetite and decreased urination and dark colored urine but generally one of the first signs is that of thirst. Dehydration can occur for any number of reasons including level of activity, climate & temperature, medications and/or illnesses. However on a normal daily basis the body loses between 2-3 liters of water just through breathing, sweating and urinating. And if excessive heat or heavy activity is occurring, the body can lose up to 2 liters in just one hour. So how do you prevent dehydration from occurring?

Drink plenty of water. Experts advise drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I say, drink as much as you can, the more the better because each of our bodies is different and so are our lives and activity levels. Just drink plenty of water, whatever level feels right for your body. The reason is water is a natural diuretic and helps the kidneys filter out toxins from the body when there is sufficient enough water or fluid to do so. Fluids are vital and essential to the overall health of all the body's organs. Increasing your water intake will actually improve their functioning. Experts advise drinking only natural pure water in order to limit or decrease your intake of any chemicals which may be in the water and can add to and contribute to the toxin level already in the body. Nonetheless, it is generally agreed across the board that maintaining proper hydration is vital and will result in greater health for the body as well as for the skin.

Moisture - Nature's Way to Softer Skin
By Gillian Johnson

Everyone wants to look 20 again, because of the youthful glow they remember so well. You know when you stroke a little one's skin, how soft and dewy it feels? Well, that's moisture personified! How do we get back to having a gorgeous, glowing complexion that is so hydrated? Let's see how!

There are many anti-aging and anti-wrinkle creams and regimens on the market today, but which ones are truly effective? Which ones deliver that moist, hydrated result we so long for? After so much research, we've come up with some very effective moisturizing components that are a "must have" when choosing your anti-wrinkle product. Make sure they're listed in the active ingredients of your next beauty crème.

Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most effective components to moisturize your skin that's on the market today. This is a natural lubricant that is found in our body, but as we age, this acid decreases leaving our skin dry and rough. Hyaluronic Acid helps our skin retain moisture, so that collagen and elastin can continue to keep skin firm, smoother and have less wrinkles. It also helps to stimulate collagen production, which aids in plumping your skin to help wrinkles and lines disappear.

We need a healthy level of this acid due to its cushioning properties for our bones and joints, as well. It has many purposes in our bodies and really helps our faces look younger when are levels are increased. Another good quality is that Hyaluronic Acid is derived from natural sources, so it's less irritating than artificial pro-moisture compounds, which can be manufactured from harsh chemicals.

There are some other moisturizing ingredients which are effective, just not as much as Hyaluronic Acid. Shea Butter is a good moisturizer which feeds the skin, along with Almond Oil which can penetrate 7 layers of skin. These don't leave skin clogged or greasy and are especially good for dry and irritated skin. Be careful not to use something thick and petroleum-like, since these tend to be greasy and clog the pores of your skin leading to other problems to fix!

Don't take my word for it, but look up LifeCell anti-aging cream to see the huge change you can have after using this magnificent cream. Just one of its 5 star ingredients is Hyaluronic Acid, which we have learned softens skin and keeps it hydrated. Check out this wonderful product to see what else one tube of cream can do to take years off your face!

Look for Part 5 where we'll talk and learn about those unsightly dark circles and how to get rid of them once and for all! Be prepared to have a mind changing experience!

This is part 4 of a 5 part series about choosing the best anti-wrinkle cream. Stay Tuned For Part 5! Visit our site at anti-wrinkle-reviews.com for more information about reducing your wrinkles. The site is dedicated to bringing you unbiased reviews about anti-aging products like Life Cell Skin.

Do Anti-Wrinkle Creams Really Work?
By Ryan English

Many people with wrinkles or who are beginning to develop wrinkles are joining the multitudes of people already searching for the treatment that will help them get rid of their wrinkles in the shortest possible time. The problem is that most effective wrinkle treatments take time to produce results, and many people do not have the patience to wait that long for results, and opt for treatments that produce faster results instead. The price for instant results, however, is that treatments must either be continued indefinitely or that treatment is painful. Those who are unwilling to risk such procedures often ask the question, 'Do anti-wrinkle creams really work?'

Extensive research done on the effects of anti-wrinkle creams have has shown that they are, in fact, effective at removing wrinkles or reducing the severity of wrinkles. They are, however, a long-term form of treatment and must be applied on a daily basis for several months before positive results become obvious. Many people desire instant results and do not wish to have to wait that long for results to become apparent. Anti-wrinkle creams have many advantages over other, harsher treatments, however, that people should consider before opting for treatments such as Botox or face lifts.

With the many different types of anti-wrinkle cream available commercially, consumers are often at a loss as to which type or brand to choose. Finding creams that actually work can also be a difficult task. In general, most anti-wrinkle creams do actually work. The problem is that a cream that works for you may not work for someone else. It is therefore up to you to find the cream that suits you best and produces results for you.

Most anti-wrinkle creams contain a form of moisturizer, which is almost universally effective at hydrating your skin and making your skin healthier. Often, people with wrinkles also have dry skin, which worsens wrinkling and makes skin prone to forming wrinkles. The moisturizers found in anti-wrinkle creams are very effective at combating this.

The other active ingredients in anti-wrinkle creams differ widely and can range from natural, organic extracts from various plants to vitamins such Vitamin A and E. Each cream contains its own mixture and concentration of active ingredients so it is impossible to make sweeping statements about the effectiveness of anti-wrinkle creams. You will have to conduct your own research into your skin type, and the appropriate anti-wrinkle creams to use.

You should search for online reviews of any anti-wrinkle cream that you are thinking of purchasing, to see if other people have found it to be effective.
