Poison Ivy is widely known across the United States to be a very common skin rash. You can get it from going hiking, camping, fishing, or any other outdoor activity. Most of the time people do not know that they have came in contact with the plant until there skin starts to itch badly.
Poison Ivy is found in most forest like area's, where there is not much human activity.
There is a whole list of different common types of treatments for the skin rash, like using a towel with cool water to lessen the itch from the rash. In some cases though the rash becomes uncontainable, and gets out of control with huge blisters appearing on the skin, and oozing different liquids. In these cases of the rash you should consult your family doctor as soon as possible. Most of the time the rash does not escalate from just being a harmless itch with redness. Some doctors say you should rub ice on the skin to help remove the sting, and the itch from the rash, or maybe even a oatmeal bath with cool water, they also say this way of treatment helps to soothe the rash.
There are a lot of home treatments for the rash, there are different itch soothing creams out there you could use to help the process of healing the rash, and getting rid of the itch and burning sensation. If nothing has worked from all of your home remedies, you should definitely consult your doctor, for you might be having a allergic reaction to the rash, and in these cases the rash can become very harmful.
