There are several ways to help protect your skin, for example drinking plenty of water each day, protect your skin from the sun, eat foods that will replenish vitamins and minerals, keep fit and finally use a skin care cream. Consider the following points.
Point #1 Because the skin has a massive surface area and the body comprises roughly 70% water it makes good sense to keep well hydrated. We often see sensible people who exert themselves doing exercise and sport for long periods drink plenty of water to hydrate so they don't suffer from heat exhaustion.
Unfortunately many people think its only athletes who need to drink water and don't do so themselves. Health experts recommend drinking up to eight regular glasses of water per day for optimum health benefits.
Point #2 Can you imagine the damage caused to your skin when you expose you head and arms to the hot sun playing sport for four to five hours without some form of protection. People do this every weekend for years thinking it will be okay and no damage will occur to them. Well speaking from experience be assured it will surely catch up with you, your skin will dry out, possibly crack and become itchy, get scaly dark blotches and white age spots.
Some of these dry skin scales change and grow and you tend to scratch and pick at them, often they come off and sometimes bleed. If your skin is already damaged by sun and wind exposure have regular skin checks and keep an eye open for any unusual skin changes.
If your going to be out in the sun for long periods wear a sensible hat which covers your face and neck, get a long sleeve shirt to cover your arms and apply some form of skin care cream or sun block out lotion. When you finish the game use a skin care moisturizing cream to get some moisture back into your skin and help repair any damage.
Point #3 Dare we ask? What sort of diet do you have, are you the greasy Joes type eating lots of hamburgers and French fries and getting overweight. Or are you the rabbit type eating a few lettuce leaves hear and there so you don't get fat. Sounds silly doesn't it? but this is how a lot of people eat day in day out.
If you want to have nice clean good looking skin you need to eat right with a sensible balanced diet full of grains, vegetables particularly the dark green kind and lots of different fruit selections. Our bodies also need small amounts of dairy and meats, however try to use products with low or no cholesterol, saturated fats and excessive sugar.
Point #4 This is the one most people don't want to know about, yes its exercise! How many times do you promise yourself you will start that exercise program tomorrow, the next day you make the same promise, again and again we do it then we don't bother anymore and the exercise program is dead and forgotten?
If you want to feel good, look good and be energetic you need to exercise your body. You don't have to be a world beater or become an Olympic athlete just start doing a small amount of exercise to get your heart rate up, body moving, maintain strength and stretch to keep nice and supple.
Point #5 Do some research to find a skin care cream that suits your needs, there are thousands to choose from. These days we are becoming very environmentally aware so common sense would suggest you consider using a natural skin care moisturizing cream.
