Looking for the best natural skin care cream? Why settle for just one? The best skin creams contain a variety of plant extracts, oils and waxes that moisturize and protect.
They contain several different ones, because each one plays a different role in protecting and improving your skin's health. For example, vitamin B5, when properly emulsified, helps to repair damaged tissues and prevent sunburns. The best natural skin care cream might be vitamin E lotion, because it is an effective antioxidant. Antioxidants prevent free radical damage caused by overexposure to the sun and pollution.
As long as a company uses naturally occurring vitamin E, rather than the synthetic kind, they don't have to use artificial preservatives. The best skin creams don't contain artificial preservatives, because they are so likely to cause allergic reactions and many of the chemicals build up in the tissues and cells of the body, causing more free radical damage that can eventually become cancer.
You might think that if a company claims to provide the best natural skin care cream, they would avoid the use of chemical preservatives, like parabens. But, I've evaluated the ingredients in a lot of different "all-natural" products and most of them do contain parabens and other "not so natural" ingredients.
If you want the best skin creams, read the label and look for kelp, honey, grape seed oil, jojoba, coenzyme Q10 and olive oil, as well as vitamin B5 and E. We already looked at what the two vitamins do. Let's look at what the other ingredients can do for your skin's health.
A specific variety of kelp has been shown to increase the skin's level of the protein hyaluronic acid. If you look at the skin as a brick and mortar structure, the protein keratin makes up the bricks and hyaluronic acid holds them together like mortar.
Due to lack of moisture and age, the levels of hyaluronic acid are often very low. An enzymatic process further reduces the levels. An extract from the kelp stops the enzymatic process and also provides numerous vitamins and moisture. The kelp is known as Wakame and only the best natural skin care cream contains it.
Honey is often found in some of the best skin creams. Historically, it was used to treat injuries and wounds. It was said to promote healing and prevent infection.
Scientific evaluation has shown that it has natural antiseptic properties, so it actually does prevent infection. A specific type, known as Manuka, has been shown to contain a number of very active antioxidants. So, you have further protection from free radical damage.
Grape seeds contain additional antioxidants. Grape seed oil is used as an ingredient in the best natural skin care cream, because of them, but also because it creates a weightless barrier that locks in moisture, while locking out dirt and grime that can clog the pores and cause you to break out.
Jojoba and olive oil are some of the best skin creams, because they are very similar to the skin's own sebum. They are truly the most effective moisturizers. Jojoba has an additional advantage, in that it balances sebum production. So, you have moisture, without excessive oiliness.
And, finally, there's coenzyme Q10. When properly manufactured to an ultrafine emulsion, the vitamin like substance "soaks up" free radicals and actually "reverses" the aging process. Now, hopefully you see why the best natural skin care cream contains so many different ingredients.
Shop for your skin's health and you'll look better for the rest of your life.
