If you are showing signs of lying in the sun too long in that your skin looks as if it might be taking on that dried out and shriveled prune like appearance, never fear because you might just be able to turn things back into your favor quite simply by drinking more water. It will not only give you plumper, more radiant skin but your overall health will benefit too.
Don't neglect the situation, act now as you could well be starting out on the road to becoming old and wrinkly later on in life, it's such an easy compromise, just don't sit too long in the sun and regularly try to drink at least 2 liters of water daily, that's around 3 pints or so.
There are many of us who are regularly dehydrated suffering lethargy and headaches just because we don't drink enough water. Water will flush out toxins from the system as well as keeping you hydrated and benefiting your skin.
It's deep down in the dermis among the skin's cell structure where the liquid is required to plump up the cells and prepare them for their upward journey to the surface of the skin as replacements to the dead skin cells that we shred during the normal processes of cell replacement.
The lines, wrinkles and blemishes we see are because the natural cell structure and replacement cycle is being disrupted by chemical reactions due to free radicals all working against the natural processes and so by assisting the cells to maintain their normal liquid levels we are going some way towards correcting some of the self inflicted damage caused by our modern busy and hectic lifestyles.
It might seem an awful lot, drinking over 3pints of water, about six to eight glasses, each day but you don't have to drink them down quickly in huge gulps, as long as you take on the liquid it does not matter if you merely take it in small sips throughout the day.
The skin cells still alive and kicking on the skin's surface could also do with a watering now and then so just occasionally splash your skin with water, pat dry and immediately apply a moisturizer, Here's a tip, carry a small aerosol spray filled with water, this is particularly beneficial if you are working in centrally heated office environments or taking long haul flights.
