The Right Regimen For Caring For Your Skin
By Judy Wellsworth
If you were to talk to a famous celebrity and ask them about their routine for caring for their skin, you will probably find that they each practice it in a different way. It does not matter if it is Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock, Britney Spears, Reese Witherspoon, Carmen Electra, Paris Hilton, or Julia Roberts, they all will be different.
It makes no difference that you are not a celebrity; we each need our own somewhat routine for skin care that is perfect for the type of skin that we have. You do not have to have a lot of money or to have allot of people know who you are but, it is twice as necessary for you to give all the attention you have to your skin. The skin is able to rejuvenate itself. There is a definite need for you to use the herbal essences and the skin products that have Vitamin D, vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Vitamin B.
Your skin care routine will need to have some type of exfoliate that will take off the lactic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic which are all in the class of stratum cornea. The main reason for them is to get rid of acne like the white head or the blackhead. EExfoliates are known to have small beads that will get rid of the dead skin cells. You will need to be careful when doing this because exfoliates can open the pores of the face and cause pimples to show up more.
Moisturizing your skin is also one of the right steps in skin care. You will never find a shortage of creams and lotions for sale because; they are available around the globe and wanted by everyone. This makes for good business. It is currently recommended that you use a moisturizer that doubles as a sunscreen since the sun’s ultraviolet rays can be unhealthy to the outer layer of the skin.
If you want to learn more about how it things were finished long ago to take care of the skin, you can learn everything from Ayurveda. This program calls itself the “science of life” because it uses an herbal alternative. They believe in the idea that when you add the commercial ingredients and the products that they offer, you will not get anything good from it and may even cause damage tot he skin. One of the things they offer is the Gotu Kola. This has been known to bring out the synthesis collagen in the skin. When you take this and add the commercial makeup, you will only get a rash.

Skin Care and Anti-Aging Methods
By Hilary Basile
Today, it seems people spend a lot of time, energy and money trying to maintain a youthful look. The store shelves are lines with miracle products claiming they will keep you looking young and beautiful, despite your current condition or age. Do any of products actually deliver? No. There is no miracle product that will keep you looking young forever, however, taking good care of your skin will keep you looking and feeling fresh and healthy no matter your age.
Wrinkle Prevention
As you age, facial wrinkles will appear. Skin cells begin to die at a rate faster than your body can create new ones. Skin loses elasticity and fine lines appear. There are several factors that can increase the appearance of lines and wrinkles, including sun, diet and anxiety. These factors increase free radical damage which, in turn, causes premature aging. To prevent wrinkles, it is important that you understand what causes them.
Sun Protection
The sun is a major factor in premature aging. The best defense against aging is to protect your skin from the sun. Although a little sun exposure is good for us, it is best to apply a moisturizer with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 or higher to reduce premature wrinkles. An SPF should be applied year-round since UVA/UVB rays are present during the winter months as well. If possible, avoid the sun during the middle of the day during the summer, and wear a hat when you are outside.
Diet
Certain foods are particularly beneficial in warding off premature wrinkles. These include omega 3 fatty acids (found in food such as salmon and flax seeds), vitamin C (found in blueberries, strawberries and citrus fruits), vitamin E (found in many seeds), and anything containing antioxidants (such as green tea).
Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety have been shown to advance the aging process. Most of us aren’t in a situation where we could quit our stressful jobs, but there are ways to reduce your stress level. Try activities that you enjoy, such as walking, swimming, dance classes, karate, yoga, etc.
Natural Skin Care
Be wary of those that recommend treating skin conditions with medications with potentially irritating side effects, such as cortisone. Instead, first try natural alternatives when treating your skin for burns, eczema, acne, sunburn, or other conditions. Following are natural alternatives to use for treating skin conditions:
Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera is a natural plant used to heal skin conditions without side effects. In particular, it is used to treat skin conditions such as cuts, burns and eczema to ease pain and reduce inflammation. Aloe Vera can found in a gel form or purchased as a plant where you can break a leaf off the plant as needed. It should be applied liberally for as long as needed.
Emu oil. Emu oil is used topically to soften skin and is frequently found in ointments for dry cracked heels. Studies have shown it is effective in reducing scar formation in healed burned wounds. Since Emu oil contains traces of three of the essential fatty acids – Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9 – the oil is used to treat many skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, shingles, rosacea, skin irritations and dry skin.
Red clover. Red clover is effective in treating skin conditions caused by heat and dryness, such as allergic dermatitis and eczema.
Neem. Neem is a plant that is similar to Aloe Vera and just as beneficial in treating various skin disorders. In particular, Neem oil is useful for skin care such as acne, and keeping skin elasticity.
Before investing money in so-called miracle products, try some natural alternatives for treating skin conditions.

Starting Skin Care for the Skin Clueless
By Elizabeth Pugh
A client came into see me recently. She was concerned about her skin but had no experience with skin care. This following is a fairly common scenario:
- They've washed with soap and water for the majority of their life.
- They've baked in the sun, usually using baby oil and possibly iodine to "tan".
- They've never used anything on their skin like moisturizers or exfoliants.
- They're just now noticing some lines and pigmentation and want to do something about it.
I'd say that the above describes at least 4/10 women that come to see me for facials and consultations.
And 4/4 of them are surprised that I don't send them home with every single skin care item that I can.
This is the reason why:
- Most people can make changes in their lives easily and successfully, but only small changes. Larger changes are more difficult and likely to fail over time.- Routines take about a month to set up. The easier and more simple the routine is to start, the easier it is to stick with it and ultimately, add to it.
- These clients will start to see major changes in their skin from one or two very easy changes. Adding products later, creating more positive changes, keeps them excited.
- It's much less likely for a client to feel buyer's remorse if they've gotten just a few "products to try" and go from their. If they feel guilty, chances are they won't come back or purchase anything else.
- Let's face it, skin care can be intimidating if you've only used soap your whole life. Too many products to start makes it more complicated than need be.
So, if you are one of those women who are interested in looking your best, having healthy skin, and possibly combating the signs of aging BUT currently don't do more than wash your face with soap once a day, here is what I recommend:
First, get a facial from a licensed professional. You will learn about your skin type, find out what you should be using, and have a chance to ask questions. Also, the exfoliation step will make a huge difference in your skin. This removes some of the dead skin cells, making your skin look fresher, younger, brighter, and less dull. The products that you purchase will be far more effective if they don't have to go penetrate that thick layer of dead skin cells. In addition, you'll feel a lot better about your skin. Your esthetician should give you a realistic view of what's possible with at-home care and with professional treatments.
Next, buy two products. Start with a facial wash. Get out of the habit of washing your face with soap, which can be irritating and drying. Follow your esthetician's advice about when to wash--usually for most skin types once in the morning and once before bed. The second product should be a hydrator (moisturizer) with an SPF built into it. You will put this on every morning before leaving. Eventually you will also add an evening moisturizer sans SPF, but for now this is the most important product. Sun damage is one of the largest "aging factors" and can lead to many skin cancers.
In about a month, after you're used to washing your face twice a day and moisturizing every morning, add an evening moisturizer and an eye cream. Since you're already used to moisturizing in the morning after you wash your face, the evening moisturizer will be easy to integrate. The eye cream is also a very simple step. Some use it only at night, but there is no reason you cannot use it during the day as well for maximal effect. Get another facial at this time if you can afford it. The facial specialist should give you some good feedback and tell you about the positive changes in your skin.
In another month add an exfoliant. This is an easy once-a-week step that only takes a minute or two. Small pieces of a gently abrasive substance such as apricot seeds or loofah are rubbed gently (this is the key--follow the instructions that you are given by your facial person) after washing your face. The face is then rinsed. This helps to remove dead skin cells. If you can add this step sooner, and feel like you won't be overwhelmed, go ahead and do so. Toner is a daily addition that you use directly after washing your face, usually in the evening.
The beginning of the next month on your journey towards a healthy lifetime skin routine, you will likely need to buy more cleanser and moisturizer with SPF. Most full sizes in most product lines last 3-4 months, some longer, after which you'll be out and need to replace it. Try not to completely run out of any one thing so that you don't break your routine.
So in short, add things in this order unless advised otherwise:
- Cleanser and SPF Moisturizer
- Evening Moisturizer and Eye Cream
- Weekly Exfoliant and Toner
- Serums
Your skin care routine will end up looking like this:
Morning:- Cleanse face- While still moist, apply any serums and let penetrate- Apply very small amount of eye cream- Apply SPF moisturizer
Evening:- Cleanse face- Use toner to add additional nutrition and remove anything your cleansing may have missed- Apply any serums and let penetrate- Apply small amount of eye cream- Apply evening moisturizer
Weekly:- Add the exfoliating step once per week (and only once per week) after cleansing
Monthly:- Pick up any products that you are going to be out of within a week- Get a professional facial if you can afford it (do not exfoliate yourself the week before your facial)
It is much better to spend your money on at home products than monthly facials if you must make the choice. Think of it this way: we address your face once per month with our products; you address your face thirty to sixty times a month. Using at home care after your first facial will be far more effective than using nothing and getting a facial once per month.

The Basics of Skin Care
By Michael Russell
Everybody wants to have beautiful, healthy and younger-looking skin. And who wouldn’t? In this society where appearances are valued significantly, having a radiantly glowing skin can already be considered a great treasure! Here’s a bit of good news – do you know that keeping a more youthful looking skin can be achieved just by observing 3 basic principles? Yes, a more beautiful skin can be within your reach and what’s more - caring for it can be as easy as A-B-C!
The 3 Basic Principles in Skin Care - There are 3 basic principles in skin care – cleansing, toning and moisturizing.
Cleansing - Cleansing can be viewed as the foundation of good skin care. It helps keep your skin healthy by removing dead skin, dust, dirt and other environmental pollutants, which may have accumulated during the day. It also helps keep the pores of your skin free from any impediment that may otherwise prevent the natural secretions of your oil glands from reaching the topmost layer of your skin. These secretions are extremely vital to skin care - they help fight infections and other toxic agents that may come in contact with your skin and provide that natural glow to your skin.
Using soap for cleansing your skin is a definite no-no. Most soaps have a high pH that can damage the natural acid mantle of your skin and may eventually lead to premature skin drying and aging. So, go for skin cleansers that contain vegetable oils and stearic acid instead. These are mild enough to be used safely on any skin type.
Using facial scrubs can also be a great help in cleansing the skin but its use must be limited to 3 times a week. For best results, choose a scrub that contains a mild abrasive.
Toning - While cleansing may help keep the skin healthy by stripping away dirt, dust, grime and dead skin cells, it may also invariably strip off the skin’s protective layer in the process. This is where toning comes into the picture. After thorough cleansing, you must apply a skin toner to close the pores of your skin, tighten it and protect it from the toxins present in the environment.
There is a wide variety of toners available in the market today. However, it would be wise to avoid those that are alcohol-based since they can damage the soluble collagen below the skin’s surface that may eventually lead to the premature drying of your skin.
Moisturizing - Ever wondered what the secret of dewy-fresh skin might be? It’s water! Water moves through the body and when it leaves, it does so through the surface of your skin. This process leaves your skin looking plump and firm.
However, when your body is deficient in water, the skin’s surface eventually shows the problem.
It becomes dry, chapped and weak. As such, it is important to keep our bodies sufficiently hydrated at all times. This is a basic premise for good skin care. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water and eating a lot of moisture-rich fruits and vegetables may help provide your body with enough moisture to keep your skin looking good. Then again, this may not be enough. Your skin also needs to be moisturized from the outside.
This is the reason why the use of moisturizers and humectants is recommended. Like any other skin care products, there are a wide variety of moisturizers available and you are free to choose the product that agrees most with your skin.
A word of caution – avoid moisturizers and any other skin care products that contain mineral oil.
Mineral oil may do more harm than good since it can dry the skin by blocking your skin pores, hence making it difficult for your skin to breathe and eliminate wastes.

Acne Food Myths (Chocolate)
By Matthew Collier
How to reduce and treat acne is a universal question! We all want to know the best acne prevention skin care solution. I have a bit of a gripe about all the different sites saying that their acne prevention skin care solution is the only thing that works and then submit articles about how to reduce and treat acne starting with acne myths, although many of their submissions are valid or have valid points regarding the do’s and don’ts of acne, the truth’s and fallacies are a very grey area, the one thing that drives me mad is the food myth, The food myth goes something like this!
· Pizza does not make you break out in acne · There is no truth that chocolate brings on acne · Consuming fried foods does not contribute to an acne flare up! · There is no scientific evidence that eating dairy products can contribute to acne.
Can anybody tell me why these sites have a vested interest in printing this kind of misleading propaganda??? When you look more closely at the web sites or companies that advocate these kinds of myths, you with find that they are only interest in providing a solution to the symptoms of acne and not getting down to the root cause and treating that! Why? Because people are consumers and consumers keep going back for more.
It is easy to say that food does not make you break out in acne, we could put it another way, you may find that when you eat certain foods, you may find your acne has become aggravated or enflamed in some way, it did with me and it has with many other people I have spoken to who have acne.
When I first asked my doctor what is good to treat acne, he told me there were no fast acne remedies and that I would grow out of it in time. I want to try and dispel some of the acne food myths based on my own experience and findings; you can make your own mind up! Lets take chocolate for instance, when you break chocolate down into its ingredients, you will find that it is made up of cocoa, milk and sugar! I believe that the majority of people are now wising up to the fact that milk consumption is definitely connected to acne, why?
Because independent scientists can now show that milk comes from a pregnant cow or one that has a calf (no surprises there) and the milk is loaded with progesterone, 5-alpha reduced steroids, and other steroid hormones, which when broken down by the body results in dihydrotestestosterone (DHT) which turns on the oil making cells in the body.
The next ingredient is sugar; Sugar is commonly referred to as a refined carbohydrate, Eating refined carbohydrates leads to a surge in insulin and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1. This in turn leads to an excess of male hormones, which encourage the skin to excrete large amounts of sebum. This grease-like substance encourages the growth of bacteria responsible for acne. So it could be argued that chocolate does not contribute to acne but its ingredients most certainly do!
If you are partial to a bit of chocolate and do suffer from acne; try nibbling the 80% + low sugar dark chocolate if you find it impossible to lay off the chocolate completely. There are many more foods or to put it another way; substances/chemicals/molecules in food that most definitely do contribute to acne and an acne breakout/flare-up.
Final thoughts! If there were no connection between food and acne, then wouldn’t it be fair to say that there is no connection between food and weight gain?
In my mind if people prone to weight gain eat certain foods and gain a few pounds, then its perfectly conceivable for a person who is prone to acne, when eating certain foods will have an acne outbreak.
http://www.acnefreesystem.com
I started suffering from acne at the age of 14, at first it didn’t really bother me, a couple of spots here and there, then the acne spread onto my chest and back, my face flared up and you couldn’t put a pin between the spots there were so many, my quest for what is good to treat acne began, now 26 years later I am acnefree, who said acne will clear up by itself?

Jock Itch - What You Always Wanted To Know about Jock Itch
By CD Mohatta
Jock itch is a fungal infection. It is named because it affects many male athletes. But anybody can get Jock itch that causes infection in the genital, anal and upper leg areas of the body.
Jock Itch- What is it?
This is a ringworm type of skin infection that mainly affects the groin area of both the sexes, especially males. Red patches that itch severely, form in the groin area in jock itch. A fungus causes this condition. Jock itch is treated with standard anti-fungal medications. Lets find out what is it and how can you take care of yourself, if you get jock itch.
Jock Itch- symptoms
The first symptom of jock itch is itching in the groin area. The itching is mostly confined to the area near anus, inner thighs and surrounding skin. You may develop red patches with defined darker borders. The patches form scales, are raised and may also ooze. The patches are ring shaped and the color is darker on the edges than on the center.
Your doctor will most probably be able to diagnose jock itch by observing the affected skin. If there is doubt, a biopsy may be done and the fungus will be identified.
Some other diseases that may also cause itching in the groin area are psoriasis, eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, candida infections and some other conditions. It is always advised to get a proper diagnosis made by a doctor before you use any anti-fungal over the counter (OTC) medicine.
Jock Itch- Causes
Jock itch is also called as tinea cruris. A fungus multiplies and causes jock itch in the groin area. This fungus finds hot and humid places favorable to multiply and therefore rapidly develops in the groin area. You can get it from anybody via contact, shared towels or clothes. The fungus that causes jock itch is from the dermatophyte family. Those who wear tight under clothing and also sweat a lot are more prone to get jock itch.
Obesity also plays a role in making a person prone to jock itch. If you suffer from atopic dermatitis (eczema), you are more prone to get jock itch. If diseases such as AIDS or diabetes compromise your immunity, you may get jock itch sooner than others.
Jock Itch- Treatment
For mild cases of jock itch, you may use anti-fungal creams, powders or ointments. If the problem does not resolve in two weeks, your doctor may prescribe oral anti-fungals. Sometimes, lot of scratching may cause secondary bacterial infections. Your doctor will prescribe you medication for that.
Care-
1. Keep the groin area dry.
2. Don't wear tight fitting or friction causing clothing.
3. Don't share your towel with others.
4. Take regular bath and keep the groin area clean.
5. Don't scratch.
6. Use anti-fungal powder after drying the groin area if you are regularly prone to jock itch.
7. Consult your doctor for details.

Get the Fastest and Safest Tan Application
By Gisele Brosnan
Obviously the most natural way of darkening your skin is through exposure to the sun rays.
This allowed for a quick and effective darkening of the skin; but this tan comes at a potentially very high price. Excessive sun exposure is now classified as dangerous to the skin, and could potentially lead to a skin cancer. So are there alternatives?
The history of sun tanning:
An alternative product to sun tanning was first released in 1960's. The results gave you effective darkening of the skin, but, alas, also gave you streaked, orange coloring, which is far from realistic tanned color.
After that first attempt, there are tanning products that proliferated in the cosmetic market and all promising to provide effective tanned result. There are basically two kinds: tanning from the inside products, which include tanning pills and tanning accelerators; and tanning on the outside products, which include tanning bronzers and tanning lotions and sprays. These products are applied differently and depending on the reliability of the product brand, both can be effective on tanning your skin.
But recently, all those sunless tanning applications have been clouded by what seem to be the quickest and safest application from yet another excellent innovation of California Tan: the California Tan Mist-on Tanning booth. Not too long ago, the industry has benefited from this easiest application provided by the tanning booth.
The tanning booth can be found at professional salons and spas where their professional technicians will assist you in getting the tanned look from the tanning machine. It literally sprays a very fine mist of self-tanner so you get a uniform coating of the tanned skin color from head to toe. It uses state-of-the-art misting technology, that's why you get tanned all over your body without the streaks.
The application finishes in minutes (for most customers, up to 7 minutes which included time spent putting clothes on and off) with your skin not only achieving instant golden glow but it will also feel soft and supple due to the quality moisturizers that come with the bronzer.
Applications start by misting your skin that finishes in a matter of seconds; after which, you towel-buff and then you are done. The naturally, golden brown will set in after 8 to 12 hours.
The first few minutes produce instant color. It intensifies for the next 30 minutes. After an overnight, intensity of the color doubles and even higher quality of bronzed skin and typically lasts for about 7 days.
You can search the web for information on treatments to reverse wrinkles or simply visit our site: mybeautymatch.com. Visit our site often and you’ll be well informed when is comes to non-surgical facelifts and effective anti-aging products.
If you’ve tried tanning creams with mix feels about an uneven look, you’ll rest assured that spray tanning will instantaneously eliminate that pesky little problem.
California Tan tanning products have been known to produce effective and natural-looking tan glow on the skin. Making it further an effective and convenient application, the mist-on booth sprays allow you to sport a realistic tan color. This is because the tanning spray has formulas that able to control color variations. This means that the reaction will depend on the skin type and natural color. Fairer-skinned people will get a lighter tan color than with those olive-skinned persons upon application. Thus, the mist-on sprays are ideal for everybody who wants a sunkissed, bronzed glow.
What to remember when getting a tanned look through California Tan Mist-on booth?
The spray tanning booth is the best answer for those people seeking the quickest and safest bronzing of their skin. However, you must also remember that you should not rely on the application to protect your skin from the sun rays too. If going out and exposure to sunlight is unavoidable, you must wear a sunscreen at least 15 times the sun protection. Remember your tanned glow is natural so it can get burned from the UV rays.
You can search the web for information on treatments to reverse wrinkles or simply visit our site: mybeautymatch.com. Visit our site often and you’ll be well informed when is comes to non-surgical facelifts and effective anti-aging products.

A New Kind Of Diet Can Have A New Affect On Your Oily Skin
By Alison Clarke
Oily skin comes attached with a wealth of problems, mainly in the realm of blemishes and pimples. These unsightly reactions to oily skin prove troublesome to many people and they often come with discomfort.
Where does oily skin originate from? Oily skin is often hereditary and it develops because the oil producing glands in the skin are producing too much of the sebaceous glands, giving the surface look a shiny complexion. In other words, the oil glands within the skin are working overtime, so the body cannot possibly use all the oil that is being made thus leaving the remainder on the surface area of the skin.
The biggest effect of this is the opening of the pores (mainly on the facial area), which turns into an increased chance for pimples. Pimples and other blemishes often come hand in hand with oily skin and there is little a person can do to stop this from happening, although there are several remedies that do a good job of alleviating the problem. Scientists have always wondered about the correlation between diet and skin reactions and here are some of their conclusions:
Avoid these foods:
Chocolate, Sugar, Junk (processed) foods, Carbonated drinks, Cooking oils
The above foods are thought to be bad for an individual with oily skin because of their increased ability to promote oily skin. Processed foods especially are bad for the bodily systems as a whole.
Seek out these foods:
Sage, Cedar wood, Lemon, Lavender, Juniper, Frankincense
These foods are considered good for a person suffering from oily skin because they are 100 percent natural and they can only have good effects on oily skin. By using natural or herbal ingredients within recipes will help lessen the outer appearances of oily skin because it works on replenishing the skin from the inside out.
Another part of the diet that works in direct correlation with the skin is hydration. Drinking water cannot be overstated in its importance in keeping the skin dry and pimple free. While it may seem as if the more water that is drank the oilier the skin will get, it actually works in an opposite way. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day (more if you are active) will better hydrate the skin making it healthier. Drinking water, not soda or any other substitute drink will be one of the healthiest all around options that you can make. Water not only hydrates the skin, it replenishes all of the bodies systems.
How else can you prevent or treat oily skin? Keeping the skin cleansed is perhaps the most important action a person with oily skin can do. Cleansing the skin keeps pores unclogged, which will also prevent pimples and blemishes from popping up.
Here is why: Someone with oily skin has larger pores then someone with dry skin, so the chances of getting clogged pores is increased. These pores will often fill with bodily oils, making them unclean and thus pimples will arise. Cleaning is an absolute must in terms of treating oily skin. Cleaning also prevents oily skin from ever developing in the first place. While most people have oily skin due to hereditary issues, there are still many that develop it because of mistreated skin care. A person that does not take care of their skin properly in their early years and teens has an increased chance of developing oily skin.
A targeted diet that seeks out the foods in the recommended list above, and avoids the processed foods, is one of the best combatants against oily skin and it is also one of the easiest ways to treat the skin from the inside out. Oily skin can be treated it just takes a little initiative.

Cold sores - All About Cold Sores
By
CD MohattaA virus called HSV causes herpes simplex. HSV are of two types- HSV1 and HSV2. HSV 1 normally causes oral herpes or cold sores. The virus is normally contacted during childhood when an infected person kisses a child. Though HSV2 can also occur in the oral area, it rarely causes oral herpes. But the virus that causes cold sores can easily cause genital herpes. Let us find out more about cold sores.
Cold sores- Symptoms-
Cold sores are also called fever blisters. The symptoms commonly appear on the lips. The other places that can get affected are - areas around the lips, on or inside the nose, cheek or chin.
Usually most occurrences take place on and around the lips. Small fluid filled blisters appear on the affected skin singly or in a bunch. Over time, they ooze and crust over and resolve. If the sores are severe, this can be quite painful and troublesome. If the symptoms are mild, they can be confused with chapped lips, pimples, etc. Happily the recurrent episodes are milder than the first in most of the patients.
A phase called prodrome is present before the blisters appear. A day or two days before the appearance the affected skin may tingle, itch or pain. After that, the blisters will appear. The signs appear after about three weeks of contacting the virus. The blisters resolve within about ten days of appearance. After the symptoms resolve, the virus goes to the sleeping stage inside the body. It reappears as active cold sores, whenever the virus is triggered.
Cold sores- CausesCold sores form because of contact with anybody having oral herpes and virus transmission. Virus gets transmitted through mucous membrane or a cut in the skin. Once the herpes virus enters the body, it multiplies rapidly. This causes the first episode of oral herpes. After that, the virus finds a safe place in the body and stays there. After it is triggered, it goes back to the oral area and causes active cold sores again. The phase when the virus is inactive is called the sleep period or latency. Herpes is caused by two viruses- HSV1 and HSV2. Cold sores normally form because of HSV1. Even if you contact HSV2 in your mouth area, cold sores rarely form. Cold sores has episodes. The first episode will appear within three weeks of contacting the virus. The later episodes occur whenever the virus gets triggered. It is considered that sun exposure, stress, illnesses can trigger the virus from its sleeping stage.
Cold Sores- Treatment
Anti-viral medication is prescribed to reduce the severity of the outbreak and the duration of the outbreak. If pain is present, any OTC painkiller may be taken. Warm or cold compresses can be used to ease the pain of the sores.
Cold Sores- Prevention
If a person is having active sores, sharing his/her items such as towels, utensils, can spread the virus. Avoid sharing till the active sores don't clear.
Avoid touching active sores to prevent transmission of virus.
If you suffer from cold sores, you should keep hands clean and try not to infect yourself in the genital area or the eyes area.
Avoid triggers to prevent further outbreaks of cold sores.

Sunburn Care - Essential Oils to Use & Methods of Application for Best Results
By KG Stiles
FAST RELIEF FOR SUNBURN with a synergistic blend of pure essential oils.
A synergistic blend of essential oils can be more effective for getting the results you desire than any single essential oil. The pure essential oils I recommend you use in a blend for sunburn care, include:
Lavender, German Chamomile, Blue Tansy, Rose and Helichrysum
These fast acting oils relieve pain and promote healing of sun damaged skin cell tissues.
LAVENDER ( Lavendula augustifolia ) - is the most commonly used essential oil and the absolute classic oil for treating burns!
During the early 20th century, French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse became interested in the use of essential oils for their medicinal properties. While working Gattefosse accidentally burned his arm very badly!
On reflex Gattefosse plunged his burned arm into a large vat of lavender oil. His burn healed rapidly and there was absolutely NO scarring of tissue! Gattefosse is credited with coining the term "aromatherapy" in his 1928 article supporting the use of essential oils in their whole, pure and unadulterated state.
Apply Lavender immediately to burns to prevent blistering, or scarring, as well as speed healing of wounds as it stimulates cellular repair and regeneration.
GERMAN CHAMOMILE ( Matricaria recutita) - an analgesic (pain reliever) and one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory (controls and alleviates inflammation resulting from burns) in aromatherapy. Its action is also antispasmodic (calms nerves) and sedative (soothing, tranquilizing and calming).
German Chamomile has a long history of helping skin conditions, often used for treating burns, and my first Choice for relieving inflamed or irritated skin.
BLUE TANSY (Tanacetum anuum ~ Moroccan Blue Chamomile) - Its high azulene content give Blue Tansy its rapid anti-inflammatory action (immediately calms the nervous system), making it an excellent first aid remedy for sun damaged skin.
ROSE OTTO ( Rosa damascena ) - Excellent beauty oil for skin care, harmonizing for ALL skin types. Rosa damascena's skin nourishing action makes it a useful addition to most facial and skin care formulas. Rose Otto's cooling effect is ideal for soothing sensitive or inflamed cell tissue.
Rose oil promotes cellular regeneration.
HELICHRYSUM ( Helichrysum italicum ssp serotinum ) - Traditionally the finest quality Helichrysum for therapeutic use has been grown and distilled in Corsica.
Helichrysum Immortelle has a highly regenerative nature and is one of the strongest essential oils for relieving inflammation. Its ability to prevent swelling and inflammation and to accelerate the formation of new tissue is legendary.
Helichrysum protects newly formed cells! It's notable skin regenerating activity is superior to any other essential oil.
Generally Helichrysum will work for all conditions in which inflamed tissues need to be calmed down and regenerated.
METHODS OF APPLICATION:
Both of these methods of application are effective for relieving pain and promoting healing of sun damaged skin cell tissues. Research shows that essential oils will remain in your bloodstream for up to 4-6 hours.
METHOD 1: Dispense 15-30 drops of your essential oil synergy blend into a 2 ounce colored dispensing bottle half-filled with pure aloe gel, shake mixture well to thoroughly disperse the essential oils in the gel then top off the dispensing bottle with aloe gel and shake well to disperse your oils in the gel. Allow the oils to synergize in the aloe gel for 24 hours, or longer as time permits.
Lightly apply your sunburn care aloe gel to sunburned skin. Repeat 1-3 times daily, or as needed for pain relief and healing of sun damaged skin.
METHOD 2: Aromatic Sunburn Care Body Mist
DIRECTIONS - Dispense 15-30 drops of your pure essential oils blend into a colored glass atomizer bottle filled with pure water. Shake well and lightly mist skin for fast relief of pain and to promote healing of sun damaged tissue. Repeat 1-3 times daily, or as needed.
PLEASE NOTE: There are many cheap, synthetic copies of aromatic oils, but these are not recommended for therapeutic use. For best results purchase the highest quality oils you can possibly find. Use certified organic essential oils, or oils that have been tested and are pesticide free.
Holistic MindBody Therapy, including pure essential oils, are gentle, noninvasive complementary forms of health care for balancing and synchronizing your body, mind and spirit and a natural, safe and effective way to enhance your health and well-being. Alternative health care may produce satisfying results where other methods have failed. Please consult with your physician regarding serious health concerns and do not attempt to self diagnose.

The Cure for Dry Skin is a Water Softener
By Jennifer Wily
I live in a very dry desert state that has some of the hardest water I’ve ever used. With the combination of those two things, I’ve noticed that my skin tends to get really dry, and my hands get so dry that my knuckles even crack and bleed. It can be frustrating, because there weren't any lotions strong enough to control it! I don’t like looking as scaly as a fish, so I decided to look into what solution I could come up with for this problem.
Slathering on lotion all the time is one somewhat effective way of fixing it, but every time I wash my hands, I have to keep putting more lotion on. I considered investing in Bath & Body Works stock, because I felt like I was their biggest customer! I got tired of this lotion bath I had to take every time I washed my hands, so I decided to look into another solution – getting a water softener.
I was initially hesitant because I was worried that it would be expensive to have a water softener. (I shouldn’t have been so worried considering how much I spent on lotion every week!) I wanted to do some homework to see if this actually would help, or if it was just a myth that some water softener company came up with.
I talked with some of my friends, and asked them if they had a water softener, and one told me she did – and it saved her skin. My interest was piqued, and I asked her to tell me more.
She told me that not only would it help keep my skin moisturized, it would also make my dish detergent and laundry detergent (and all other types of soaps, for that matter) last longer. With soft water you only need a small amount of soap to work up a nice lather. I asked her which Arizona water softener company she used, and she said American Home Water. She was really happy with their professionalism, and said they did a good job.
I decided to take the plunge, because as she pointed out, I would save money on soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, detergent, etc. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that water softeners really aren’t all that expensive, and most companies don’t charge very much for installation.
The results of my water softener experiment have been great! I was so excited when my hands weren’t dry and cracking – and I don’t look like a fish anymore! My “scales” are gone, and so is the hard water buildup that I noticed on my shower nozzle. It makes cleaning the shower a lot easier, which is a benefit I didn’t even realize until I had my water softener installed.
If you’re trying to decide if you want a water softener, talk to some friends. Ask for a good referral, and go for it. You’ll see benefits you weren’t expecting, the least of which is softer skin.
I’m so happy to have my water softener, and I couldn’t’ ever go back to hard water.
Jennifer enjoys sharing experiences that may help others out. Her skin is now soft and glowing, thanks to her wonderful water softener!

No Easy Fix
By R.P. Edwards
Our average day's fare is comprised of burgers, pizzas, coffee, tacos......and maybe if we are trying to eat "right" we have a fast food salad (soaked in chemicals) or a falafel instead of a burger.
Over time our bodies literally become addicted to these foods. The salt, the sugars, and as we take more in.......we need more. Like a junkie on heroin the moment our "fix" isn't available our minds CRAVE these foods!!
Corporations spend millions of dollars each year on studying which foods are the most addictive!
Its no secret (but not a well known fact) that there is a multi-million dollar food testing facilitythat, among other things, does just that......test new foods to see which are the most addictive.
(They use other terms to describe the research but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out the motivations)
So when the time comes to finally diet........wow.....it's tough. Particularly if we drop right from 2 burgers and fries a day to some crazy super low-cal program. Our survival mechanisms, now twisted to expect 4000 calories a day click in and say "starving!!! At this point we end up eating 5 hamburgers or an entire tub of ice cream and cookies. Oh well there is always tomorrow.
OK........well that diet didn't work........lets go on to the next one. We try pills, shakes, low-carb, low-cal, Atkins, Pritiken, and on and on.....but each one is "hard" and we lose a few pounds......fail....and put them right back on again. This is a terrible cycle for the simple fact when we cut calories to very low levels, our bodies will burn muscle as well as fat.....muscle is needed to burn fat. Next time we gain weight back we have less muscle, and it gets harder, and harder to lose the weight.
What are we searching for with all these diets?? We are all expecting a quick fix, a pill that makes us not hungry, and the weight just falls off in buckets.
I am sorry to say, as much as many scam companies would like you to think ....there aint no such donkey!!!
Life is filled with funny little now cliche laws that no matter how we try, we can't seem to beat.
Sayings like "We reap what we sow" "Garbage in garbage out" as overused as they are DO still apply to us. And the one term that you can't escape when dieting (or life itself!) is "You get out what you put in"
This is one of the hardest battles you will likely ever have to face. Regardless of what diet or nutrition plan you choose you WILL face difficult days. Whether you have your stomach stapled, take medication, drink shakes, follow a "balanced" diet or go low carbs.....you WILL have times when you are hungry!! Sure some diets are better than others, and it IS important to select a sensible one that tapers down your food intake and is based on your physiology but even then your food addicted body will have cravings.
There IS no magic pill ......nothing in the world will entirely curb hunger, or make it "effortless" to lose weight. You hear that a lot on TV "Lose weight effortlessly" Nonsense!! If such a thing existed every doctor, trainer, nutritionist and person on the planet would be doing it......
Once you have finally realized that this WILL be a battle ...whether its that last 10 pounds, or needing to lose 300 pounds it will always take some discipline, research and planning.
A trainer or nutritionist can create a nutrition plan specifically for you, calculating your daily caloric requirements, your food preferences as well as your physiology and create a program that will generally wean you off the bad foods like a junkie off heroin. Easy?? No. But do -able....unlike cutting calories so drastically that you are starving and blow the diet.

Athlete's Foot - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment
By Juliet Cohen
Athlete's foot a skin disease and it is a fungal infection usually between the toes. Athlete foot is also called tinea pedis. The condition easily spreads in public places such as communal showers, locker rooms and fitness centers. Although athlete's foot occurs mostly among teen and young adult guys, kids and women can get it, too. People with sweaty or damp feet are at risk. Walking barefoot where others also walk barefoot is one way the fungus can get on your feet in the first place. Fungus can be spread from person to person by contact with these objects. However, without proper growing conditions (a warm, moist environment), the fungus will not infect the skin. Up to 70% of the population will have athletes foot at some time during their lives. That's why your mom or dad might say to wear your sandals when you're showering in a public shower.
Several fungus varieties cause athlete's foot, and sometimes more than one is present at the same time. The condition may be complicated by a secondary infection with bacteria which take advantage of the damaged skin. Symptoms of Athlete foot include itching and burning feet. The skin frequently peels and, in particularly severe cases, there may be some cracking, pain and bleeding as well.Bacteria fungus can also invade the skin. These bacteria can cause a bad smell. Bacterial infection of the skin and resulting inflammation is known as cellulitis. This is especially likely to occur in the elderly.
Causes of Athlete's Foot
Athlete's foot is a skin fungal infection. The most common fungi causing tinea pedis are Trichophyton rubrum and T. mentagrophytes. Fungal infections of the skin are called dermatophytosis. Dermatophytes may be spread from other humans (anthropophilic), animals (zoophilic) or may come from the soil (geophilic). Anthropophillic dermatophytes are restricted to human hosts and produce a mild, chronic inflammation. Zoophilic organisms are found primarily in animals and cause marked inflammatory reactions in humans.
Symptoms of Athlete's Foot
1.Dry skin.
2.Itching.
3.Scaling.
4.Inflammation.
5.Blisters.
6.Cracking.
Treatment of Athlete's Foot
Fungus thrives in a moist warm environment keeping the feet dry and cool can cure theinfection. It is recommended to wear open sandals, or even better barefoot as much as possible.
It is important to keep your feet clean and dry. Wear clean absorbent socks made of natural fibers, such as cotton, and change them during the day. Spray your shoes with a disinfectant and set them in out in the sun to help kill germs and Don't share towels or footwear. Many medications are available including miconazole and clotrimazole.

Start To Look Younger In A Day With The Proper Skin Care
By Mark Bourgelas
Yes, you can look younger in a day by taking a few more minutes each day to properly hydrate your skin.
It is a well-known fact that, all living things need water to survive. Of course the human body is no exception. Made up of mostly water, it is the single most important element that your skin needs to stay healthy and younger looking.
First I think we need to take a look at our skin and attempt to understand how they work.
When you look in the mirror you are only seeing the top layer of 3 layers to the skin, called the epidermis. Deep below the surface of the epidermis there lies a complex system of layers hard at work.
The epidermis layer is the thin outer layer consisting of thinner and older cells. Below this the internal younger cells that are constantly pushing up toward the surface to replace the thinner and older cells. Your epidermis layer will determine how fresh your skin looks. The condition of the epidermis will determine how fresh and young your skin looks and how well it absorbs and holds moisture.
The dermis layer is the middle layer that lies between the epidermis and the subcutaneous tissue, which we will discuss in a paragraph to follow. The dermis layer is actually the thickest ofthe three layers and is responsible for the skin’s structural integrity, elasticity and resilience.
This is the layer of skin were wrinkles develop. The dermis is made up of a grid of connective tissue, which is collagen and elastin fibers that hold the blood vessels, muscles, nerve endings, hair follicles, fat cells and sweat and oil glands that lubricate the skin and hair.
Collagen and elastin are vital skin proteins. While collagen is in charge of the structural support of the skin the elastin creates the skins flexibility and resilience. The dermis layer also contains cells that synthesize the proteins and other structural molecules.
The subcutaneous tissue is the last layer of the skin. This tissue is mainly made up of fat and acts as a shock absorber and is used for insulation. The glands and muscles that attach to hair follicles begin in the subcutaneous tissue. As we grow older, this tissue becomes thinner, which makes wrinkles more noticeable and is a factor to sagging skin.
Now that you have an understanding of how these different layers of skin effect how young you look, we can concentrate on what we can do to start looking younger.
Here are seven basic well known, but seldom remembered, actions you can take that will start helping you look younger in a day.
1. Only wash with warm, not hot, water. Washing your skin with hot water increase the speed of aging effects. You should use comfortably warm water, but stay away from the hot water.
2. Handle your skin with care. Because your facial skin consists of a very thin layer of cells, you never want to scrub your face or use anything that may contain abrasive items. Always pat your face dry with a towel, never rub.
3. Work up. Be sure to use short firm strokes or pat in upward motion when you apply any type of moisturizer, night or day creams and makeup. Just as a personal suggestion is to use an all-natural skin care when using moisturizers and creams.
Today there are so many parabens and other carcinogenic additives in skin care that you need to be aware. Gravity is always pulling the skin, which creates sagging, wrinkles and lines. So give your skin a little lift whenever possible.
4. The eye area needs extra TLC. The skin around the eyes is the most delicate part of your face and that is why lines and wrinkles will show up there first. Professional makeup artists suggest using the ring or pinky finger to apply and type of makeup or lotion to this delicate area. Also, when applying or taking off makeup, remember to gently pat, not rub, and use upward strokes.
5. The neck and décolletage. The skin of your face extends from the top of the forehead under the chin, down the neck and over the ears. This is a very visible area that needs the same attention that is given to the rest of the face. Remember your neck frames your face and should look as beautiful as the rest of the picture.
6. Any skin care or makeup should be applied with clean hands. You should also always use the tips of the fingers when applying anything to the facial area. The natural heat from your hands will help your skin care lotion or cream absorb into the skin better.
7. Get your beauty rest. I know, this is n old cliché but it could not be truer. Sleeping 7-9 hours of restful sleep a night will allow your skin and body to do the necessary time to rest and replenish itself. While you sleep the skin is carrying off toxins and replenishing nutrients, restoring the proper level of oxygen to the blood, which helps in new cell growth.
Follow these simple rules and you will start to look younger in a day.

How Safe Are Your Skin Care Products?
By Diane Johnson
In today's world, we are exposed to millions of bacteria, viruses and carcinogens. The modern industrialized society has processed the foods we eat, contaminated our precious water supply and polluted the air we breathe.
Many are unaware that modern personal care products also expose us to serious dangers. 99% of all personal and skin care products on today's market contain harmful ingredients that cause irritation and inflammation, even at the cellular level invisible to the naked eye. Daily exposure to ingredients such as preservatives, pesticides, fragrance and dye can cause inflammation that burdens the immune system, allowing it less time to repair and heal. Insufficient healing may lead to disease and even contribute to cancer. Why risk your health and well-being when a safe, natural alternative is available?
Hylunia products are completely free of all potentially toxic, harmful and irritating ingredients and contain only the purest pharmaceutical and natural ingredients specifically formulated to soothe, protect and heal the skin.
Paraben Free: Preservatives such as parabens (Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl and Butylparaben) are found in 95% of all personal care products. Parabens mimic estrogen and are linked to breast cancer, lowered sperm count, lowered testosterone levels, testicular atrophy, infertility, increased testicular cancer, and undescended testes.
Phthalate Free: Dibutyl Phthalate is linked to cancer and is present in nail polish, perfume, soft plastics, and skin care products.
Formaldehyde Free: Diazolidinyl, Urea, Imidazolidinyl Urea, and Quaternium 15 decomposes into formaldehyde and are considered carcinogens.
Dye Free: Some FD&C and D&C dyes are considered carcinogens.
Pesticide Free: Pesticides are hormonal disrupters which are linked to cancer and similar to parabens.
Fragrance Free:Inflammation created by fragrance slows the wound healing process.
Additionally, almost 5,000 chemicals used in fragrance can react with other ingredients present in skin care products to become indirect carcinogens.
Lanolin Free:Lanolin, derived from sheep, can be an endocrine disruptor because carcinogens such as Dioxane and DDT may be present in the grass that the sheep ingest.
Alcohol Free:Alcohol dries and irritates the skin which causes inflammation.
Triclosan and Resorcinol Free:Used as an anti-bacterial agent and a preservative, these ingredients are known to be hormonal disrupters.
Lead, Mercury and Arsenic Free:Heavy metals affect the nervous system and are considered neurotoxins.
Laureth Sulfate and Polysorbate Free:Cleansing agents such as Ethelyene Oxide, Dioxane, Sodium/Ammonium Laureth/Laurel Sulfate and Polysorbate may contain carcinogens.
Diethanolamine (DEA) Free: Cleansing agents such as DEA and its derivatives like DEA Sodium Laurel Sulfate are considered carcinogens.
Propylene Glycol Free:Propylene Glycol, a commonly used solvent and humectant, is a known allergen and may be contaminated with carcinogens such as Ethylene Oxide and Dioxane.

How To Turn Dry Skin Into Beautiful Skin Naturally
By Helen Hecker
Xeroderma, the medical name for dry skin, occurs most commonly on the lower legs, arms, the sides of the abdomen and thighs and is a very common condition. It's easy to treat dry skin cheaply, simply, naturally, and effectively at home.
Our skin also receives less blood flow and lower gland activity than the other organs in our body. The dermis is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis that consists of connective tissue and cushions the body from stress and strain. Skin is one of the most important parts of the body; it's our largest organ.
Environmental factors, such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps, can cause dry skin. Dry skin can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin A, systemic illness, overexposure to sunlight or some medications. Bathing or showering too frequently, especially if one is using harsh soaps, may contribute to dry skin.
Dermatitis, contact dermatitis, eczema, seborrhea or psoriasis may cause the skin to become very dry too. Skin gets exposed to the elements, especially in winter, causing it to become drier.
Dry skin can also be a sign of an underactive thyroid.
Drink freshly extracted carrot juice, if you can, every day; carrot juice is an excellent cleanser for the liver, great for the skin and contains a great deal of nutrients, all beneficial for dry skin, eczema, acne, zits, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and other breakouts. Eating foods high in the omega-3s are particularly important for people with dry skin or acne. The next time you want to have a snack, instead of junk food, help your skin - have an apple, orange, peach, pear, banana, plum, grapes, cherries, berries, cantaloupe or any other fresh fruit.
Only use mild cleansers or mild soaps if you must use a soap or cleanser. Try using a humidifier if the air is dry and you have a severe skin condition. Avoid all products that have an alcohol base.
After a soothing bath or shower at night just before bedtime, apply a thin layer of coconut oil over your entire body; it'll even last on your skin through your shower in the morning. Apply coconut oil to irritated or chapped lips as well; it's edible, so it's safe and so healing to the lips.
Coconut oil is the best healing, soothing, and moisturizing treatment I've found for dry skin; in fact all types of skin conditions, skin eruptions, pimples, acne, milia, irritations, cuts, burns, fungus, etc.
If you have acne, eczema or any type of dermatitis coconut oil will treat and quickly heal these skin conditions too. Dry skin contributes to fine lines and wrinkles; coconut oil helps prevent the onset by keeping the skin soft and supple.
The skin is subject to constant attack from without; it can be affected by many conditions, diseases and ailments. The skin supports its own ecosystem of microorganisms, including yeasts and bacteria, which cannot be removed by any amount of cleaning.
If you're still worried about your skin, or the problems persist, see your skin doctor. And did I mention to drink lots and lots of water every day? See your doctor or naturopathic doctor if your skin doesn't improve in spite of your best efforts.

Do Skincare Remedies Really Work?
By Gisele Brosnan
There are hundreds of skincare products on the market that claim to be able to offer you a wide range of wrinkle reducing elements. If you walk into a department store and take a look at the counters of skincare products, you are sure to find an entire section that is just full of anti-aging and wrinkle preventing creams of one type of another.
Do they work? If you ask the sales person if they do they are sure to tell you about some miracle product that they used. Really, though, there are a number of factors that play a role in determining if a skincare product will work for your anti-aging needs and your anti-aging concerns. The bottom line, though, is that not all wrinkle reducing skincare creams are created equal.
It is up to you to find those that do work though. To help you in your search for the perfect skincare remedy, here are a number of tips to help you to find the best possible solution to your wrinkle needs:
* Take a look at the ingredients. If you are purchasing through the web or you are purchasing locally, take a look at the ingredients. Sure, there are words you don’t know there. But, you should be able to see a number of helpful vitamins included. Vitamin A is the most important as it is one of the best wrinkle fighters out there. Look for Vitamin C and Vitamin E, too.
* Take a browse through the internet. There are more product potentials on the web than any store can provide. What’s more is that the name brand is absolutely
* No indication of the quality of the product. In fact, it may not be one that works well for you at all, while another generic will. Keep your options open here.
* Look forward to what others say to you. Wrinkle creams are not inexpensive and for that reason, you need the advice and expert opinion of others. Make sure that you are comparing their conditions to your own only if they match. Also, realize that they may or may not have used the product as it was directed. Nevertheless, online reviews of various wrinkle reducing products will help you to make a decision.
You deserve quality in your skincare and for that reason you should select only anti-aging wrinkle creams that can give it to you. The fact is that there are many that can offer great anti-aging benefits, but it’s up to you to do your research to find the one that’s right for you aging needs.

Sensible Skin Care
By Darryl Power
Everyone wants fresher, smoother, younger-looking skin. But is the solution to be found in any of the countless products being sold in stores and online? Here are some sensible suggestions for better skin that don't involve strange ingredients.
Shun the sun
Sun exposure is the number 1 cause of skin damage. Even if you don't use any skin care products, protecting your skin from the sun will greatly improve the health, and therefore the appearance, of your skin. Use a waterproof sunscreen and lip balm everyday, each with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15.
Eat your vegetables
Your mother was right. Eating right does make you look better. Fruits and vegetables contain the vitamins you need for both health and beauty, including antioxidants that slow aging and keep your skin fresher and smoother.
Drink up
Getting plenty of fluids helps keep your skin clearer and softer. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of fluid a day, and make sure that you drink mostly water and unsweetened fruit juice. Beverages high in caffeine, such as coffee, tea, and cola, are diuretics, that is, they cause you to lose fluid through the urine. Beverages high in alcohol accelerate the aging process and put you at risk for diseases of the liver.
Moisturize
Use a moisturizer on your face and a lotion on the rest of your body. Think of it as giving your skin a drink from the outside. Simply getting your skin wet won't do the trick; you have to lock the moisture in. After bathing or washing, gently pat your skin dry with a towel.
(Leaving your skin to air-dry will dry your skin much too well, and you don't want that.) Then apply a thin coat of moisturizer or lotion. Moisturizing after bathing or washing will help your skin hold on to the moisture it received during your bath.
Your skin care regimen doesn't have to consist of products that are expensive, high-tech, or loaded with obscure ingredients. Just make sure you use them properly and regularly. If you don't know enough about skin care products to be able to tell which ones you should use, see a dermatologist.
Bear in mind that skin care products work differently on different people. One skin care product may work well on another person but be unhelpful (or worse, harmful) to you.
Come clean
Cleanliness is the most basic component of beauty. Make sure that you keep your face and body clean. Wash your face at least twice a day and take a bath everyday. If you wear makeup during the day, make sure you remove all of it every night.
Get your beauty sleep
It's not just a turn of phrase. Getting adequate sleep does make you look more beautiful. Late nights put your skin at risk for dryness, wrinkling, and sagging.
Get physical
Regular physical exercise will improve your overall health and make your skin look better. Exercise helps clear your body of toxins, makes you feel happier, and gives you a youthful glow.
Stop smoking
Cigarette smoking increases buildup of toxins in your body, affecting the appearance of your skin as well as your general health. Quitting smoking now will translate into a host of health (and beauty) benefits for you in the long term.
Loosen up
Reduce stress in your life. Improve your methods of coping with stress and let go of minor annoyances. Frown lines don't happen by accident. They settle in after a lifetime of making faces.
Remember, beautiful skin is not about the products you use. Living a healthy life and maintaining a positive outlook are the keys to looking better.
Skin care is not something you do, as you get older. It should begin at an early age and consist of natural skin care treatments.
When used consistently they can prevent many forms of facial skin care aliments.

Understanding the Fat Cellulite Link?
By Marie Watkins
If you surveyed a cross section of people I think most would know that there is a fat cellulite link. But, if the same people were then asked to explain the difference between fat and cellulite I think the answers would be less forthcoming. It’s interesting to note that cellulite is not solely a by-product of being fat, cellulite can appear on large or skinny thighs. Cellulite is not a discriminatory condition when it comes to size although it does effect women more than men.
Many people mistakenly think that the dimpled skin is cellulite. This isn’t the case – skin is just skin, its what’s going on underneath that determines whether cellulite is present or not.
Cellulite is just fat, however it is the way that it is stored in the body that gives it its telltale cottage cheese like appearance on the skin. Cellulite is the fat that is stored in the layer of subcutaneous fat just below the skin. It is stored in chambers of fibrous connective tissues that hold it in place.
Hormones can heavily influence this type of fat and most deposits are made during puberty and will depend on our body shape. Once out of puberty we don’t tend to increase the number of these fat cells, rather our existing ones swell as we put on weight. Its this swelling of fat cells along with the introduction of toxins and other fluids that causes the connective tissues to become stretched and hardened. This then has the knock on effect of pulling on the layers of skin and so creating the dimpled appearance.
The other common causes of cellulite besides hormonal influences include among others, a lack of exercise, poor circulation, increase in toxins, a bad diet and lack of water.
There are also environmental factors like smoking, drinking too much alcohol and taking on board high levels of caffeine. These can introduce free radicals to our body, which can be very damaging and impair circulation.
The best way to reduce cellulite deposits is to adopt a healthy eating plan which restricts processed foods, sugar salt, swapping them instead for fresh whole foods like fruits, vegetables, fish and organic lean meats. Get plenty of aerobic exercise and swap sodas and other drinks with colorings and flavorings for pure water.

Hopefully from this article you will understand the fat cellulite link and realize that although there are steps you can take to minimize cellulite you are unlikely to totally eradicate it.
