Smokey had lived in the desert all of his miserable, old life. He had panned and mined for gold, busted broncs as a dude ranch hand, and even sold door to door out of the back of peddlers pack stretched across the back of a tired donkey. He loved the out doors and sometimes even the life that fate had dealt him, but he couldn't shake one rough fact. He needed a dry skin remedy that would make it easier to grasp his merchandise, or the reins of the mule. Unfortunately, Stanley Home Products was not around back then and so Smokey was left with chapped digits and an attitude to match.
Living in some houses during the winter is almost the same as drying out under a hot Arizona sun. It should take away the cracks and the worry that you will have to bother the spouse to just shave off that ugly dead skin on your heel because it just is not going away. And forget about eggs that seem to do the trick, they only take away the dead cells and leave it for more the next day. What someone needs to invent (Stanley Home Products maybe?) is a powerful moisturizer that will heal as well as keep the water in your skin on even the driest days. Alas, everyone is doomed to die all wispy and dried up just like Smokey.
