Dry Skin Care is Here - You Don't Have to Suffer Any Longer
By Joan Gosselin

Are you frustrated with dry, flaky, scaled skin? Are you sick of trying lotion after lotion only to find that nothing helps? Well you don't have to suffer in silence. Many people complain of dry skin and it can vary in severity. The only way to treat it is to follow an effective dry skin care regimen. You need to make some changes to your lifestyle and use high quality products in order to rid yourself of this annoying and unsightly condition.

Some people with dry itchy skin run to their dermatologists for help, often to find that their doctor can't pinpoint the cause of the problem much less prescribe an effective treatment for it. By making some simple changes to your daily lifestyle, you can at least prevent your dry skin from getting worse or reaching the point of no return.

In dry skin care, it is important not to bathe for long periods of time. It is also important to avoid hot water because it is drying. Use warm water instead. You shouldn't stay in the shower or bath for longer than 15 minutes. When you get out of the shower, you should pat your skin dry with a towel so some moisture remains on the skin. Within 10 minutes of getting out of the shower or bath you should apply a moisturizing lotion or cream to lock moisture in.

Dry itchy skin can also be prevented by not using harsh soaps when you wash your face or bathe. Find gentle cleansers that don't leave your skin feeling taut and dry. Avoid antibacterial soaps and stick with varieties that contain natural moisturizers.

While it may be tempting to blast the heater during the bone-chilling winter months, it is best to keep indoor heating to a minimum or at least use a humidifier in conjunction with your heater. Indoor heating is one of the common culprits of dry, chapped skin. In dry skin care, the winter months are especially difficult and you must be extra cautious.

The most important way to treat and prevent dry itchy skin is to use an effective face lotion and body lotion that is all natural. Mainstream creams and lotions contain many synthetic ingredients that will only worsen your dry skin. Your face lotion and body lotion should contain active ingredients used in high concentrations. Some of the latest ingredients in treating dry skin include babassu, maracuja, active manuka honey, grapeseed oil, and phytessence wakame.

In conclusion, dry skin is a nuisance but it can be easily prevented and treated by making some changes to your lifestyle. Most importantly, you must find a skin cream that will combat dryness and protect your skin. So what are you waiting for? Use this information as a guide to get rid of dry skin once and for all so you can focus on the greater things in life.
