Hydrate Yourself With Water For Eczema Relief
By Evelyn Lim
Eczema skin is normally dry and irritated. Dry skin can be an indication that you have not been drinking enough water. Eczema relief can be achieved with moisturized skin that is not cracked and less irritable. Other than using topical creams for external applications, moisturization via hydration with water can also take place from internally.
You cannot do without water. Your body is made up of a large 70% water. You need to constantly flush your system with water. If your body gets dehydrated, it will pull water from other parts. That means that some of your blood vessels close and the rest of your body has to work harder to make up the difference. The consequence include problems like high blood pressure, heart disease, eczema, liver problems and, especially, kidney problems.
Your kidneys, with the assistance from your liver and urinary tract, serve one major purpose. They flush toxins out of your system. They take fluids within your body and separate them into good fluids and bad fluids. The kidneys take the good fluids and, through vaporization, send them back into the blood. Then they take the bad fluids for processing and to be passed out from your body as urine. To ensure that your kidney continues to function in an efficient manner, you need a constant flow of water . As you become dehydrated, blood flow to the kidneys becomes slower and toxins tend to stay in your system for a longer period of time. You cannot get eczema relief as your skin becomes dry, scaly or cracked.
When toxins accumulate, they start to crystallize and turn into kidney stones. Kidney stones can cause you plenty of pain and also add to the build up of toxins that you already have, if you are dehydrated. The stones can cause an obstruction when they block the exit from the kidneys, much like if you were plugging a drain to fill up a bath tub. Toxins then back up and fill the kidneys. This can cause your kidneys to stop functioning completely.
Generally, an average adult needs to drink anywhere from 48 to 64 ounces of water per day. However, other factors can also affect the amount that you require. For instance, if you live in a warm climate, you may tend to dehydrate faster as more liquids pass out as sweat through your skin pores.
Do also note that a lot of drinks are actually processed by your body as foods, rather than liquids. So, liquids like tea, coffee, alcohol or soft drink do not count as water that you require for dehydrating your body. In fact, it is recommended that you cut back a bit on those beverages and drink more plain water.
If you fight dehydration, you should feel more mentally alert and can focus better. You get eczema relief when your skin beomes less dry and you are less prone to scratch it!
